Thanks Nova and Wind, it gives me a baseline

Yea, I know, my record was a new set of tires gone in 3 days and 1100 miles! And the rear was a dual compound tire.

I always wear out the edges first when down there, left side first.

This was a pilot road 2 after 10 days

    OUCH.

I don't know why that is; I'll go on a ride that makes a slow right hand track and it will have more left hand turns than right.:hmmmmm

I've got a buddy who gets their 'fast' group together on rides and someone always needs a new tire. Could it be that they also tap -value deleted- on the straights... it must be very hot on those rides - nobody would ever break the speed limit :hide :lurk

2 things contribute to the LH wear, lefts ALWAYS have a longer radius than rights, plus visibility on lefts is better, so you are leaning longer, because of the radius, and carrying more speed, or accelerating more because of the visibility.

I rarely accelerate on the straights, and many times actually slow down. I am a slow in fast out guy in the twistys, so I am almost always on the gas when leaned over, and my tires play the price for my fun.

My preference is the Anakee 2's. Both tires are great on road, but the Tourance's are not near as good on loose gravel. Packed trails both are good.

I would recommend picking up the Anakees quickly (if these are your choice), as my area is sold out, and they are now discontinued. Heading south of the boarder this weekend to get my last set of 2's.

the triple black 2011 gsa came with metzelers tourances on.....they lasted only 5000 km, put on a new set of anakees 2 on them, a week later and we want them off the GSA.....going back to tourances....this GSA is ridden very hard, almost sport like, we usually hit the curves very agressively and ride on an average speed of 170 to 200kmph, no dirt no gravel... tourances performed very well in all type of weather, rain included....anakees fold under pressure and SUCK when wet

this is in Mexico.....and that´s my two cents....

Just mounted a fresh set of OG Tourance. Front made in Germany needed just 1/4 oz to balance. Rear made in China took 0 weight!! I like it!!:clap
