It is yours for the taking bwalsh, as my work has me tied down this weekend, and it seems the boys north of the Mason Dixon Line do not like to cross it.:lol3

Pity Florida isn't part of the Mid-Atlantic. I think the Orange would feel quite at home there.:jkam

Had the time today, but the heat must've got to me. I forgot all about poor Ol' Ornery.

The road is closed coming in off Newport Road from 340. Old man who lives off Newport near the furnace said they closed road a few weeks ago due to a hazardous materials spill.
We walked down to the furnace but could find no signs of any hazards. [IMG] The bridge is gated and another gate is across right off Newport. [IMG]

The tent and van by the bridge were the folks running the Catherine's FA 50k. They had no idea why the road is closed and had to drive around 20 miles or walk the half mile down to the bridge.
There was a paper posted along the road alerting visitors that a "biodegradable " herbicide had been applied to the roadsides. Hopefully Ornery isn't growing huge tumors by now.

I'm not trying to claim the grab. I enjoyed the ride down there. [IMG] That's about as close to the furnace as you can ride from the east side.

Gates are still locked. I walked down to the furnace and could hear excavation equipment farther west. Hope its not too big of a deal but I nabbed the orange. Look close its hanging on the sign.

I wonder what kind of hazardous spill could have happened up there??? Seems odd that they only closed about 1/2 mile of the road.

Got youir PM regarding the "other" tag. :D I haven't tried to figure it out yet so I have no idea where it is.

All the gates down.by the furnace were closed too.

I found the other tag..... after the gps sent me through a private yard. The guy was pretty nice, said it happens all the time.
