Starting this thread for riders in the Quad State Region of West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland & Pennsylvania, roughly covering the counties of:

WV (Eastern Panhandle) - Jefferson, Berkeley, Morgan, Hampshire
VA (NOVA) - Frederick, Clarke, (western)Loudon
    MD- Allegheny, Washington, Frederick
PA (So PA) - Franklin, Adams
(This list and map below are just for general reference, riders from any area/county are welcome to join us)

Looking for other riders in this area? Planning a ride and want some company? Want to BS about riding or whatever? Post it here…

We have some other threads in the vicinity but none centered on this area, some of the riding areas around us include: Sleepy Creek WMA, Green Ridge SF, Frederick City Watershed, NOVA Dirt Roads, Michaux SF & Northern parts of the GWNF

    Some of our neighbors:
Cat Herders (Some of our area is Herder turf but they seem more focused on areas south of us)
    NOVA and NOVA Chatter
    FAR
    SMIBs and SMARs
    WVDS
    Death Riders

NOOBs to Experienced, riders from anywhere are welcome…

    I'm in, hooligan LT.

As for O&O's comment, when do we MAT'ers get colors? :rofl

Not sure whose turf it is, but I made a cross-border raid into Franklin, W.V., via Sweedlin Valley Road and other unslabs day before yesterday ...

As you know, lots of similar culinary candidates in our AO. I and others like me who prefer pavement to logs and the like could wait contentedly at such for you and other off-road heroes to return with your tales of dirt derring-do.:D

Seriously, thanks for starting this. If there is an pre-existing thread of our area, I've missed it ... tho I'm starting to think that my supervising spousal unit has some sort of tracking device on my laptop that leads to less time on ADV than I might like. :augie

Once this thread gets some more traction, we'll have to do a RTE (ride to eat) sometime.

I would comment but I got burned making a similar comment in the SMIB thread many years ago.

If it was something I said above, flame away; I am an insensitive lout. :annie

OTOH, as my lawyer isn't, do be kind enough to provide a USPS addy for service of process. :D

    Nice!
So let's settle this now before it becomes a turf war. Our "turf" extends to Franklin through Brandywine, includes Swedlin Vly Rd (that where Rough Run comes out, or did) and up to Peru Hollow! You'll need a catherder sticker for this turf.
    :dirtdog

Swedlin is great along its length including in VA where it's 614. Can take on a magical aura the spring when the vegetation is sprouting and in the fall when the colors are changing. There's some fun riding between Swedlin and 220 for those who like backroad blasting. Some is gravel, which can be chosen or routed around depending on bike.

    PS: get into dirt riding!

SOOOO, I live in northern MoCo, just a handful of miles from Frederick and am shopping for land near Sleepy Creek WMA. If I stay quiet and lower my colors can I come out and play from time to time?

Go for it. The map and counties were just for rough reference but anyone from anywhere are welcome.

It'll do wonders for your sanity.
Damascus... forty-something years ago I used to blast around and come through there on 124 and 108...
Of course it was relatively deserted country back then. No traffic lights...
Saw the "hemi under glass" run at 75/80.
There was a place called Dickerson Quarry west of you. That was pretty interesting to visit. I doubt that still happens though.

Yep, still somewhat open out here, a few more traffic lights though! I live on 124 and go North and West when I can. Sadly, the drag strip's resurgence was short lived and it shut down a couple years ago.

I was solo camping off my bike in Cannan Valley last weekend and three guys with dirt bikes insisted i join them at their fire. They called themselves "SQIBs" . Real nice crew. They suggested I look into rides/riders through this web site. I have no problem with gravel but my bike is more for pavement. It would be great to run a few lines.

@hooliganLT glad I could sort of bring this out. Thank you for starting the thread. I may not be able to get out much, two babies take some work, but I can certainly try a few hours sometime.

    I have a '13 triumph tiger 800xc. What's everyone riding?

Just don't run us unaffiliated members off the roads and trails as you pass by! We're old but sneaky. :)

Riding a '11 Tiger 800 roadie that does great in Michaux and Frederick Watershed. With two kids in elementary school I look forward just to bike commutes! Football, dance, karate, basketball, etc. Etc. BUT I also have Goldwing sidecar rig for the kids.

I'm on a Yamy XT250, mostly enjoy puttering around so riding with big bikes is fine with me.

When Scotty P started the SMIB thread I made a smart ass comment insinuating it was silly to have a thread for Southern Maryland..

    The thread eventually blew up.
