Does anybody else imagine a point, about 10 hours into a drive like that, where every molecule of every component in the entire machine breaks its bond and the whole thing just poofs away in a cloud of various elemental vapors...the driver falling 3" flat of his arse....right foot hyper-extended....right arm going "WhereTF did the brake go?"
Eh...me neither. But seriously, can you do all that shit on a single build? kdt

I bet this was shot on one build. I used to abuse a car like this (albeit with far less skill). When set up for it they can take a lot of abuse before a rebuild. What really eats an engine is rally racing...engine swallows a lot dirt and the suspension gets beat to hell. I do wonder if all of this was done on one set of tires! :eek1

.....And so does the U.S.M.C.! I called my first KLR "The General" because she was Marine Corps Green.

My son builds American cars for the Honda Corporation & he dropped by the house on an unexpected vacation. We hit Turkey Bay with the 700 Raptor & the Leopard, with a quickness.

I mean no disrespect to the Mighty KLR. Although I poke fun at it, it has proven itself worthy.

My point is, like the U.S.M.C., MOST KLR riders could give a Rat's Ass about what other people think.

(....are we OK now, WP? I know you get irritated pretty easy if somebody talks bad about your rides:D )

If I wasn't trying to corner the market on Suzuki Dual Sport bikes, I'd probably have one.

I was just yanking your chain as well. Nobody is more aware of the KLR's short comings than a KLR owner. I'd love to have a DR 650 as well & if money wasn't so tight I'd be interested in the one you're looking to sell. :freaky

The other DR is gone, to a good home. crpntr brought a friend up soon after I posted the pic and took it back to the 'boro.

As for the Japanese 650 DS bikes, its really just pick a color. I have so much Suzuki stuff laying around it was an easy decision to look for a DR. If an XR-L popped up, I'd be riding red. Not a fan of the new KLR' s, and the first gen KLR suspension is ..... well ..... sad. And I wanted an air cooled motor and screw adjust valves.

I'm very close to having the DR's stock carb sorted, and really looking forward to putting bunches of LBL dirt and gravel behind me.

And I'm with graygoat - rain rain go away.....

I'm looking forward to riding some place other than LBL but, if you head out there please drop me a line first. The last trail of the LBL weekend, where Matt went down HARD & I ALMOST went face first into a foot deep puddle......... That trail looks to be very promising. :D

    Hey DR.Z - - - - -

I've got a Labor Day ride lining up for around Tellico.

Think you and your homies could drive an extra 30 minutes to Tellico and we can do a massive ride there?

Wonder how many days you all could ride?

    What ya thinkin'?

Also - - - the TKO is in August. You coming up for that?

Labor Day ride in Tellico? :ear

    Where are y'all staying?

I could drive up Friday... ride Saturday & Sunday... drive back on Monday.

A few of the Wankers are riding the TKO event. I'd like to go but I'll probably be picking up my XRR in Tallahassee.

Hey guys. July 28th were doing another ever so popular Dirt Devil Poker Run out in Hickman.

If ya pre register its $10. if you don't its $15. The winner gets the whole pot, so the more people who show up, the more money there is to win. :clap
