Funny you would say...according to my neighbor in Tellico, the gates to all the visitor centers and rec areas are all closed as of today and all the blue light trucks/suv's are parked. I might scrap the rally and cross all the bars we've been riding by for the last 5 yrs! Nah, I'm outta here!

In case anyone is wondering... PC is still open this weekend to ride
If we do get this fall camp out/ride put together at LBL, I say we hit Turkey Bay on Saturday. Every one I've ridden with off ADVrider could easily do the novice trails & if it's dry BIG bikes shouldn't be too hard.
Stopped and talked to Troy for a little bit today. With the campgrounds being closed, I'm going to look into two other leads and let you guys know what might be viable in the next couple of days.
I need to hit up Turkey Bay, I've never been. Sounds like that might be a good plan (and hunter free too).
Not that anyone is in the market, but I happened by Castle today, and they have a lonely 2012 690 on the floor. Normally 10,299 marked down to 8,999. Slightly under used retail for a brand new machine. Might be the time to make a deal.
If it is still there Monday when I get home from TX it could be mine
Okay, so with the uncertainty of Piney being open on the second weekend of November, I've looked into some other non-federal camping areas that Troy and I discussed last night. Fat Daddy's doesn't offer tent camping currently, and may be closed anyway. Paris Landing, however, is open, close to LBL, and cheap. The "basic loop", sites 48-61, is completely open at the moment, and is $28 for 2 nights after fees.
FOR NOW, we don't have a set place that we are going to call base camp, yet. We are going to wait just a bit longer and see if Piney reopens. If it does, we will try to get in there.
Just putting this out there, and seeing what people think. After we get to the point that we have started booking camp sites somewhere, I'll see about starting a new thread for the non-event.
The Music City Motorcycle Show will be on 9 + 10 Nov, '13. It will be at the Williamson County Ag Center.
If you need a co-conspirator for Turkey Bay, I don't get lost much any more. As long as it isn't Sunday Oct 13th. because that is when the Benefit run for Aubrey Ferrell takes off from the Cal Ripkin baseball field parking lot at Milan City Park @ 1:15 P.M.
I like it
I'm not into camping...too old and too spoiled...but if there is a decent hotel nearby I'm in.
Paris Landing has a lodge...
I would bet Turkey Bay is closed until the stupidity with the Gov't shutdown is over.
What really happens when IHF, BLT and BajaDoug go "riding"

I thought going for a ride with you was more like this...
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/aGns_QEUPTw?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/aGns_QEUPTw?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Fishtale lodge just down from Paris landing is great too. The season is slowing down here so they should have rooms available.
Lol just watched that last night with the boys.
But I think it would be like wheelie and the choppers.
Meh . . . . . truth be known, this is more like it :ymca
