I'm in for the MS Levee roads next week, I know backwoods would be game to!!
It will be big bike friendly. I'll take the Tenere on that ride.Maybe a GS or a Ducati might even brave the dust? Let's hope the weather cooperates.
The part we rode from Tiptonville to Hickman was plenty wide enough for a small truck so I'm sure a big bike would be no problem at all
I just made the run from Hickman to Tiptonville yesterday on my Vstrom for the first time. No problem for a bigger bike unless you sneak off down by the river. Lots of sand and mud off the levee but even I was able to not fall over. If you guys decide to ride next week I might try to hook up with you somewhere if that's cool??
I will try and make it if i don't have to work.
This bike is hi tech and me not so much. It did something funny a couple of times and took me a bit to figure it out. I was doing some power wheelies in second gear and a couple of times it would cut out like you hit the rev limiter and fall on its face. Turns out it was breaking the tire loose and the traction control was kicking in.
Been playing with the traction control today in enduro mode. It has 8 different settings but i liked it best turned off. Me low tech.
There could be a 1k V-Strom involved, just put in a modified clutch basket, checked valve clearances, new plugs, and waiting on a K&N air filter. I'm counting on the K&N filter to give me the extra 50 hp I need to keep up with a Red Duc!
That Multistrada is an awesome bike. I'm not sure how Ducati does it, but I was on a Ducati Monster a few months ago that would also carry the front wheel until it hit the rev limiter, and only a foot off the ground.
I made a vroom, vroom sound on a Ducati once and got a stern warning from a police officer.
Treemuncher & I had a fantastic ride yesterday in Humphries/Perry County. We started out in some kinda gnarly stuff & ended on lots of incredibly scenic gravel & pavement. It's too early to run out to the garage & check the trip meter but, we did around 130 miles. We passed up some interesting Quad trails that could probably use further exploration but, that entire area is in need of further exploration if you ask me. Sorry no one else could make it but, there's always next time.
Video soon to follow.
The Ducati will be in the back going slow on the gravel and dirt , it's that Yamaha you need to worry about. Now in the straight aways on blacktop ?
havent you heard that any flow advantage a k&n gives you is negated by the dust and grit that flows through the filter?
I rode my 749 on a dirt road once....once.
I haven't been hawking this post, anything going on this weekend?
1204 big Barton's creek road, zip 37055

I've had to follow 2fast since we were kids. Destroying an engine is a small price to pay if it means being able to stay a little closer to him when we ride. Plus, I plan to sell it to SandalScout this spring, so......
Levee run sounds good to me. But uh southernraised are we going to chain your xr to mine an let me pull you? Or is like a little leprechaun goin to come to my shop with some parts an magically make it run again. Oh an buy the way you seen the Klr lately? It's bad enough that he is marrying your sister but takeing your bike!
I have the perfect thing to slow him down. If I'm at the LBL campout, I'll bring it. Do not ask any further questions. Just trust me.
IF??? What's with the if?
IF I plan to be there, Murphy will show up the day before and ruin the weekend.
