Since the above location is considered "out of bounds" (except for the rebels who make up their own rules :nono ) I have an alternative tag that :bow complies.

Speaking of rules, #9 should be deleted. :tough

Richard, I love the fact you are sticking with the reason for this game - to get out and ride. It does seem you put in the most miles between tags. And you also tied in a Moto location. Great stuff! I suggest we leave it, then set a better boundary on the East.

Or, the Mt. Juliet Wal-Mart will do, it would be sort of a :ken .

Personally the Middle TN map showing the counties is pretty clear to me, I'm too busy enjoying the scenery and roads to determine if I'm "climbing up to the Cumberland Plateau" but I didn't make the rules, I just enjoy the game. :beer

so...determining whether you're in a particular county is any easier? I was under the assumption that not everyone would know when he had crossed over into another county...I find that backroads are rarely marked this way. There may be a subtle change in road surface in some places...but changes in road surfaces hardly mark county lines as a rule. I'm also of the assumption that not everyone has installed an altimeter on his bike. However, it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to tell him that he is about to start climbing one or two thousand feet. Or already has :evil.

But what makes sense to me may not make sense to others. If y'all wanna change the rule, it's no skin off my back. I still prefer the visible to the invisible when looking for something, but I'll play along either way.

What say the masses? Keep the rule rework it?

Speaking of rule changes...I think something should be added, but thought I'd throw it out here first. Basically the way the rule reads now, you have to get a tag, post it, and THEN go get a new tag. I'd like to be able to get a new tag on the way to get a current tag...meaning the new tag photo could be taken prior to (less than 24 hours) getting the current tag.

    Any thoughts on this?

i'm okay with the getting a new tag on the way to get the current tag. as long as you aren't using a photo that is more than 24 hours old i think we'll be fine.

it's easy for me to tell by elevation rise when i'm on the plateau, but i think it would be easier to have a more general boundary, perhaps something like a town that is chosen as the eastern boundary. if you're past that town you're out of bounds. cookeville, for example.

I tell ya how I do it, I look at the county I want to explore and find an interesting tag in it, map it and go for it, if something looks cool along the way, take a tag shot.
Using a map with counties clearly marked avoids all confusion, IMO.
    I rest my case. :lurk

If I'm out to get a tag, no iPhone btw, I'm gonna hurry back to the house to post it.
If a tag is made a midnight, there's no way I hunting one in the dark.
Post the new tag in 24hrs works for me, get it how or whenever within 24.

OK, I'm done, those two items were like a thorn in my side but I'll play either way when I can. :wave

I'm of the opinion that the Cumberland Plateau and the outlying roads make for great riding. So I don't mind if a tag is made slightly out of bounds on the east side. Now the west side is a different story... hehe

    What he said :deal

Seems that our game is very smooth overall AND it's a hell of alot of fun! I think the map with the counties is pretty good. I usually just visualize the plateau on a satellite map to make sure I'm good.

(I hate that I'm missing some of these- sent the seat out to be reworked this week).

Yep, that first tag was easier, and would be more fun to get than this one. :fyyff

Well, in my rush to get another tag and notice I was going up a rise, oh crap :baldy , not again I thought but this time it couldn't be possible.

I cranked it up and buzzed past some Truckers in the slow lane going 25. I get close to the top and pull off to check my altimeter, cool, I haven't topped 1000ft :deal , I'm still in TN and I see no rivers. Clowns but no rivers.
