Right now we are in Smyrna. We really like this area. If I can find work close enough this will be our permanent stop. I will try to make it to dinner. Have to run the truck over, but no biggie.

I'm pretty disappointed that I haven't had more chances to ride this weekend, but I think I am going to sneak out for a bit this morning. The TDM is ready for the call!

Wished I had of seen this earlier. Maybe we can have a trip this coming weekend??? As of right now I don't have anything planned. The next three weekends will be back at work.

Double DANG!! I was just reminded of a scheduled doctors appointment. Oh well maybe next month.

I see there are quite a few jackets on CL, I shouldn't have any problem finding something cheap locally.

I have a recomendation for where to get that zipper repaired....

British Tailor's in Franklin/Cool Springs. Corner of Carouthers Parkway and Mayfield. His shop sits in the back, away from the road, so you can't see it from either road. The guy who owns it is named Sam......really nice guy that does excellent work. He is ALWAYS buzy, so it might take a week or so to get it done, but it will be done right and at a good price. I had him repair a long air zipper in my Olympia suit and he fixed it for 20.00 dollars! I tried about 6-8 other shops that said they did alterations, but all they wanted to work on was dresses. Drove around all one morning stopping at shops until someone at a shoe/leather repair shop in Franklin gave me his name and address. He took one look and said no problem, but would take a week until he could get to it. He fixed it and it has worked fine for the last year...very very pleased with the work and the price.

I don't have a jacket anywhere near that small.....but I am sure you can find something. I figure you'll want to send the stich back to Aerostich to have it repaired but if you want something local it sounds like the British Taylor might be the ticket.

Thanks for the heads up. My suit is still under warranty, and it has a waterproof zipper with sealed seams. This is the only riding gear I have ever owned that is truly waterproof and I don't want to mess that up. I will keep him in mind for other repairs though.

Can anyone recommend a cobbler? I need some stitching done on my Discoveries. I hope they can be restitched and maintain the waterproofing...

I have used the guy in the arcade in Dickson, TN. He replaced the Velcro on my On Roads and I asked him about resoling and he said it would be no issue. Hope that helps.

Try "the shoe fixer" in murfreesboro. They have stitched up some klim pants and added taller soles to Loura's sidi street boots and they work for cheap! Next to O'Charleys on memorial blvd.

There's also one in Donelson, next to Whitts BBQ. He may be worth a shot.

Worth the ride to get down there? How long did it take you and what route did you take to get there? Looks like a fun road.

Highlight of the day, sunset at Brow Park with Brenda.

I took the scenic route thus taking most of the day. Left the house at 9:30 am and arrived in Mentone around 4:30. But if you take the most direct route you could get there in 3 hours. It is maybe 5 miles off of interstate 59 at Ft Payne. I'll pass along my route when I get home.
