order a jonny burger ! hot dam !,,,,,,,,, good grease
Wow...where'd the time go???
The dinner meet is this Saturday and we haven't decided on where we're going.
We need some suggestions from the troops. cdq3 has suggested the Jumbo House in Columbia. Any others?
Strattons in Ashland City has announced they are winding down. If you don't go soon, you'll miss out on a '50s style burgers and shake diner. It has been crazy busy the last few times I passed it, everyone trying to get there one more time.
I'll miss 'em.
well, I am late to this thread and I have not read all the previous posts (I'm lazy that way), so forgive me if this has already been done
but I would suggest Stratton's in Ashland City
It closes at the end of this month. They're going to tear it down and build a Walgreens.
it doesn't matter to me, though. I already have plans for this Saturday.
Strattons sounds good to me, especially since it won't be around much longer.
Anyone got any objections or another suggestion?
Ya'll have fun and pig out for me.
I'll be out of town....ride report to follow
I could go to Stratton's. What time on Saturday?
early enough to beat the dinner crowd and give longer distance riders time to get home before it's too dark.

After 38 years this Ashland City landmark is closing Sept 1st. This may be your last chance to eat there. This is a true classic 50's style diner which gets rave reviews.
im like ole ihatefalling over there---- i cant make this one my self. does sound like a good one. incase ya ever wondering, the jumbo house in columbia is alot like the place yall going to this time. its also a old 50's style mom and pop drive in kinda place.(been there for i know 50 years)
yall have a great ride fellers! maybe i will make the next one.
I sure hate to hear Strattons is giving way to drug dealers.
I'd love to be there to see 'em off, but I'm a hair out of bounds
yes sir,, thats sad! i guess thats why i love to do the job i do now. the crack heads, meth heads and scum are all over now days. i love to help pepole but some days it seems its a loosing battle.(support your local police dpt, they do try) if you thank shooting down a dirt road at 70mph is dangerous, try taking on a few drug heads with guns... they do it everyday for verry little pay all to keep our small town USA safe.
were trying man ! were just a bit out numbered now days
Alright...what is it.
At first I thought it was a raven, but the tail doesn't look right. Then I thought it was a gull but the wings aren't right. It still looks ocean going though...
needs a better hint?
You got that right. Seems like they're on every freakin corner nowadays.
Psst...its being replaced with a Walgreens.
Well, I guess its a gull but I thought their wings were more solid looking and they didn't have a forked tail.
Also, I didn't realize they could still fly covered in oil like that.
I sure wish I could see what these photos actually look like. My laptop screen is just about awful when it comes to photo editing.
And correct sir...it's a gull. Haven't seen much beyond them and pelicans so far...save a few cicadas.
Direct from the Redneck Riviera.
I had to come this far to find a place. Everything I wanted from Orange Beach to Sandestin was booked. Looks like the Gulf's tourista business is back! Down here on the 'Riviera', however, it's about 25% occupancy...about what it should be this time of year. Just how pappa likes it
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm late for my evening beach hike
Man, just looking at those peirs makes me hungry. One of my favorite things when the family goes on vacations down there is to stay some place close to a public peir. I'll spend my time fishing while the wife lays around in the sand. Meet back in the evenings and cook up what I've caught while drinking frosty beverages.
nom nom nom
Omm nom nom indeed
skrimps, crabs, scallops, bacon, alfredo, etc.
I let the pros do the catchin'. I don't tend to catch good, eatable fishes off the piers. Plus it's hotter 'n a 2 dollar pistol most of the time the sun's out.
And in other news, owners of BP stock will be glad to see corporate's latest cost cutting measures in the cleanup effort...recycled roofing for the golf carts!
It's refreshing to see 'em wearing seatbelts. Awful things can happen at 1 MPH. I mean, always getting cut off by little ol' ladies behind walkers...it's mayhem out there I tell ya
