JC was riding with his improved Gas tank on his XR650 (we have been giving him lot of hell on our last rides because his tiny tank make us to stop several times to refill it).

so what would happen, did happend. the tank failed, or what is more appropiated, make the bike to fail

we had barely passed the customs check point at falfurrias.

the improved tank connected to the bike tank

so after some 40 minutes, we were ready to keep rolling...

my GPS was tanking us by country roads, since we decided to avoid the 281 and all other highways.

here at Benavides Town, refilling at 12:37 am

I was on the front, following the GPS, Andres was on the back of the line, when he call me over the cardo radio and says that we need to stop asap cause Jorge is making several zig zag and looks like falling asleep.

we are somewhere before Tilden town. we stop, is 2:00 am, the sky is incredible clear that the milky way is on its all splendor.

A big pickup truck rushes by and at the distance we see that is makin a U turn,

I think for my self that if the same situation would be but on the route 101 near San Fernando, I would probably already shited on my pants...:lol3

the man stops and offers help in case we need it. That was nice.

we continue and stop at Tilden, so JC can refill his tank.

we are already looking for the first place to camp, Jorge is having trouble keeping awake, but there is no place where we can stop to place the tents, so we decided to ride the 72 and get by Three Rivers to the 281, there is near a rest area and we can stop there.

    is 3:00 am already

Oscar gets asleep as soon as he lays on the concrete table

so everyone takes a spot an take a "little" nap to keep keep going "in a while"

    I do the same
    [IMG]

before we notice, the new day arrives, 7:30 am and every one but Jorge still sleeping

JC tires are really Jodidas! :lol3:eek1
    [IMG]

I start shouting all to get up and keep going before gets hot.

So this was no good progress, the intention was to make it to SA at least :lol3

getting to SA, Oscar wanted to test a bike he had an eye on, so we stoped at mens toystore

after this, JC was insisting on get purchase a tent, since he lost his. So he stoped at a store. We waited for him on the road side. was a good break since the heat was rising exponentially

we heard of a camping place and went over there to find out that was full, then we realized that was because of a National Holiday.

so from here we got one more direction to go to find a camping place, but we already needed some fuel, so went to this place on Lake Austin, called Ski Shores Cafe. very nice.

You guys are making me jealous! I love Austin.... and you found Ski Shores.
    Good work.
I guess Emma Long City Park was full. That is a great place to camp while in Austin. There are a couple other camping options, just a little further out.
The hostel might be worth a look.
A great place to cool off is Barton Springs. Maybe you know already. Good views :evil and very refreshing when it's hot. It's in Zilker Park.
Hippie Hollow on Lake Travis is interesting :eek1, but no telling what the views will be like... can sometimes be scary.
    Have fun and be safe.
