The Telelever front end is fairly unique. Not used for road racing but I loved the way mine handled. All if them!
No springs in fork tubes just 1 shock/spring in a A arm configuration.

As the proud owner of a 1996 R1100GS, I'm VERY happy that they are keeping their value :clap :clap I'd certainly consider $5K for mine.

The paint issue on the one in the ad raises big red flags flags for me. Plenty of reasons why paint bubbles like that -- none of them are good.

As for the telelever front suspension -- certainly not the best you can get for off road, but on road it's damn good. If you google a bit, you'll find more than you will ever need to know :norton

Are they plastic tanks? I had a Tiger that bubbled the decals but not the paint and the tank was plastic. If not plastic, would a strip/repaint be enough to fix it?

Oh, c'mon now .... He's logged 250,000 miles on 3 BMW's and he doesn't like the front suspension?
    Now THAT's crazy!
Why would you keep riding them if you don't like them???????
I'd be suspicious of that guy! There's something upstairs that just ain't workin right.:lol3

+1 - I had an F650GS (when it was still the single cylinder) and liked the suspension. It's not a great setup for racing, but for what most GS' are used for, it was great.

You seem to have posted something from craigslist, dfc. You have mistakenly wandered into the BMW suspension discussion thread.

You all owe me big time for being the driving force behind that smiley. It's a wonder this site survived this long without it.

EDIT: - Oh, and, er, welcome to the general BS thread, apparently. :shog
