Been following this thread for years, but haven't been qualified until yesterday to join in. Last bike I owned that was 250cc or less was in the '70s, that is, until yesterday:

Jon - I am looking forward to your first impressions and riding review of the bike. Looks like it's in great shape. Hope it rocks your world! :)

Thank you, Ladybug. :nod That photograph was taken in front of Mount Moran, in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.

Here's another photograph taken at Oxbow Bend of the Snake River, just a little farther upstream from the last photograph.

I have traveled with my Zongshen 200GY-2 over 48,000 miles in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. It's a great, minimalist touring motorcycle. :D

The trunk of the neighbor's car? Does look odd though.

    Thanks Nanabijou.

I have done the title and taxes already, and I'll deal with safety and insurance within the next couple days, and then I can ride it! It seems practically new. Original owner changed the oil & filter every 500 km with Motul, and rode it only on the street, so it seems to be a cherry.

I am enjoying your ride report http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=18817981 and waiting for the next installment.

Yeah - I noticed something off with the headlight too. I thought a creature from the first Alien movie had incubated in it and was trying to burst out. Ha..ha...

I'm working on the second part of the trip report. Been busy with other things - so I can only work on it here and there. It will need lots of editing. I'm hoping to have it done within the next few days. Glad you are enjoying it! It's a lot of work to write everything out. But I like to report on some of the new equipment I am using - to help others who might be considering the same gear and a similar trip. The details also serve as a nice reminder of the adventure and I know if I re-read it in the middle of next January - I'll feel like I'm back there - and I crave that kind of escapism when it is cold and there is 2 ft of snow in my backyard! :)

less then two weeks and I do my first maiden trip on my cbr250r to virginia from iowa, about 1300 miles one way. I plan to camp all the way there and the same on the way back.
I would not mind adding a dual sport to my barn but I spend too much time hiding in the fairing of the cbr to stay out of the weather to give it up for a dual.
I will have 10,000 miles on it just a few weeks past owning it for a year. Not to shabby when you live in the weather that is the midwest.
I will post a write up and link it here when I am done.
