You too! We never even saw Jesse! We meant to be back earlier on Saturday, but the weather was just too good. Our group always sleeps in, and rides till later. 2nd shift.

Saturday night, sometime after dark, we were heading west on the grade somewhere near four mile lake. As we took a right hander, there was a huge Moose on the road, heading west also. I kept my lights on him and followed for a good 75 yards, until I looked back, and my riding partners were quite a way back making me now question my judgement for following so close. Awesome.

I would have hooked up your group, but boots filled with water was not too my liking! Next year hip waders just in case!

These socks kept my feet dry all weekend, even though my boots were soaked. https://www.sealskinz.com/US/socks

I think you all expressed my feelings exactly! Old friends & new friends having great adventures together. You all were soooooo good to ride with! "Happy trails to you, until we meet again".

These 2 riders exemplify the hart of the spirit of the "Shindig" for me! So often they stayed back on "Drag" to help others! Thanks "Iffykid" and "Farmrider" for setting the example for us all. Thanks but I seem to recall yourself and Marty riding drag most of that day:thumbup, I didn't want you to be the only old guy:gerg having all the fun :jack I had to twist the throttle once in awhile like yourself to get ahead of the dust.

And for Vice grip:ksteve(Shawn) I would have to say he showed real spirit riding a AT with only one foot peg the entire day and never showed anything but a get it done have fun make the most of it attitude.

I would ride with the saddle tramps anytime:webers

Strange as it may sound I was thankful offroad bemidji had a flat had it not been for the flat tire delay I would have packed it in due to rain, By the time the tire was repaired it had quit raining and was probably one of the best days of weather for riding. Thanks to the tire delay I stuck it out and enjoyed another day of riding with old friends as well as new :thumbupthat I had never had the opportunity to ride with in the past.

I agree, that flat tire was a blessing in disguise. It was the perfect excuse to not get completely soaked right off the bat, and the rest of the day shaped up pretty nicely.

Here's what I have from Saturday's ride. Very fine route in my opinion! Lots of interesting 2-track.

Thanks to Lutz for leading a great day.

:fpalmWish I had been smart enough to turn on the GPS saturday, I stayed busy following the leader on some great riding.
Perhaps Lutz or others could provide info on where we went.

Oooops Marty already slipped in and provided info:clap, Thanks for covering us :loco:gerg guys once again.

Thanks and I agree; Shawn was the best sport I have ridden with in years! I learned from his positive attitude! It also takes a very good rider to do the things he did with that big bike. Hope to ride with him next year.........I asked him to bring a lighter bike next year and he seriously wondered why! Way to go SHAWN !

Regardless what everyone's motives were, I appreciated the team spirit and help patching the tire. The fact I didn't have to catch up to the group after changing the tire was a plus too :lol3 Big thanks to all involved!

    haha

    this is AT shawn here.

that flat and resulting bridge crossing kicked my ass quick, not to mention found out just how strong those tour tech pegs really are !!

IT def. was a great day. went up near Lutsen sunday am and had TOM at last chance fabrication weld a piece onto the bolt, forming a custom foot peg.

rode back to st cloud and ended up with like 757 miles (on the AT) fri/sat/sunday

apprecaite all the help and the few that waited for me.

thanks for the tracks. For that you get your picture in the thread.

This was at the end of an overgrown road somewhere west of Dumbbell Lake. Marty came out the week end before and cleared 60 trees
with the chainsaw he carried on his bike.

Dale (corn cob) farm rider, fords a creek that was much shallower earlier in the "Shindig". We needed to help each other a bit here! "Flame Out's" happen. All went well and we had a blast! Later the "Saddle Tramps" stopped for a picture. 1st we had to pull D.H. out of a dbl. road sign that was covered by a bush just to the left of this picture. He hates when that happens..........
