My waterproof boots were fine until the water went over the tops:imaposer then the water stayed in and just kind of sloshed around until I emptied them later that afternoon.

    Cant wait until next year:clap

No wet boots sounds good. Not quite sure what the wife would think leaving her in the cold Mn winter:imaposer

Winter ain't here yet! I had a blast for a few hours this afternoon, putzing around the woods on my Honda, wearing lightweight summer gear. I'm gonna miss this warm weather when it's gone...

After Marty H. put this on his Gas Gas last year and used it at the "Shindig" 2016, I was impressed! I have put this on one of my "desert" (west Texas & Mexico) bikes. It is a MICHELIN "StarCross" medium rock Motorcross tire. I am using it with the "Tu Bliss" duel air chamber Technology system. This is the 4th year with Tu Bliss in the rock and spinney cactus of the desert down there. Dunlop 606 made 1500 miles, Dunlop Geo-max did 1800 miles, Kenda doing well at about 2000 miles but I have even better hopes for these Michelin's. I'll let you know at the next Shindig! HAPPY TRAILS................ DSCF4380.JPG

For my MN ADV friends who may be headed to the Big Bend Area of Texas, I would be glad to help with any info. you need. I have been there many times and know it well. Just ask... A great place to escape MN winters and ride in perfect conditions this time of year. Summer NO. Winter YES. You will not regret riding there. Trust Me.

Is there still tent camping available at the Terlingua boat house?

Thought it was closed. Looked that way 2 weeks ago. I really like Rancho Topango, located on the River Rd. west of Terlingua about 5 miles on the right. Remote sites with a excellent shower facility. Also a gun shop on site, this is TEXAS.... enjoy BB. For a remote and cool place-check out Terlingua Ranch Lodge. North of Study Butte about 15 miles then about 16 miles off the main road. Has a restaurant with cheap Beer and decent food. Carroll Shelby, the famous Texas Automaker started it in the 60s. Another cool place to camp is called Tin Valley Retro Camp. Cool lady owns it. Close to Terlingua Ranch Lodge. Eclectric....Bring LOTS of Water....
La Kiva and Starlight Theatre in Terlingua Ghost town are both great. Guaranteed to have character locals. Drinking a Lone Star or Shiner Beer on the porch of Terlingua Trading Post is a local tradition and watching the sunset. More local characters and tourist from all over the US and world.

Spent about 2 1/2 weeks riding BBNP and Black Gap WMA to the east. Had a very good time, though traveling much of the time alone was a bit risky.
