Any Vegas-ites going? I'd like to give my first road trip on a bike a go, but would prefer not to do that alone.

But if I, say, died en route, would you notify my next of kin?

This looks good to me! No Rally, but will my WRR do? Or maybe my TE310. Keeping it small, and I love Moab!

It looks like you will be just past the Easter Jeep Safari, which is good as that creates a lot of crowds on trails and in town. Not like it won't be busy because it is springtime in Moab which is usually great.
Here is a helpful link that we refer to a lot in the Rockies regional section, since we get a lot of Moab questions. It is the MOAB 101 by Rodzilla.

It is a little dated, but most of the info, especially regarding trails is still pretty accurate.

I'm 95% in....Will be riding KLR650. Camping in 26' toy hauler. My first choice is BLM camping, 2nd would be Archview RV campground. For those of you who are interested in BLM camping (tent or otherwise) please sound off so we can get organized.

If things go good over winter plan to bring a pop-up camper along with the XR's. Really prefer BLM camping. Just called Archview RV Camp, for shits and giggles, price there sites. Just under $60 a night. Any way to make reservations at the BLM?

@Bigfury , there is NO need to make reservations at the BLM land. In this particular case, they do not take reservations for the spots on Willow Springs Rd, north of Moab. I will be there early, and while I am staying in a cabin at the Archview RV campgrounds, I will make every effort to secure THEE best spot on that BLM land, on Willow Springs Rd. I know where the best spot is, so hopefully I can get it, and pretend like I am a group of 30 riders, until reinforcements come along to relieve me.

There is NO cost at all for staying on the BLM land.

Is Willow Springs RD the same as BLM road 378??? I guess what I'm asking is... How far is Willow springs RD from Archview RV???

If I remember correctly, yes, Willow Springs Rd is BLM road 378. I will go online and confirm that......Confirmed !

The entrance to Willow Springs Rd, immediately off Hwy 191, is approx. 1 mile north of the entrance to the Archview RV campgrounds, also on Hwy 191.

The "sweet spot on the BLM land, where we would love to have 10+ RV rigs and campers, is 1.5 miles away from the campers and RVs in the Archview RV campgrounds, and that measurement is taken by actually riding the route, not as the crow flies.

Willow springs to Archview is a quick ten minute ride on atv trail paralleling highway, or a little more technical coming from sovereign and into Archview via trails to the east.
I will keep an eye on this. Sounds like fun. I'm usually down there a lot in the spring and fall since its only a few hrs away.

I should be there. Have a 14 Crf250l. Planning on doing the BLM camping. If I need to get there early to help claim some spots, I can do that.

I am new to the site. And will be making a huge attempt at attending this on a KTM 640 adventure. I will BLM camp with a camper and maybe a stray friend on a KLR650. I will be making the very long trip from Durango....
