Hello - I posted something in the earlier afternoon in the DR200 thread http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=229927&page=412 - and it said that my post would need moderator approval before being posted. It is still not up however, so I was just wondering how the moderation works and what to expect as far as timelines.

    Thanks!

Sometimes posts are flagged from new posters. It ususally doesn' take long for it to be approved. Yours has been approved and is now visible to all.

We know it can be confusing and annoying, but it helps keep down spammers and people who hide coding in their posts.

If I posted a ride report thread around 5:30pm today how long will it take it to be approved? I am leaving for Peru tomorrow and want to get the link to mine and my dad's thread to family members tonight.

It's part of our anti spam defence.
New members who post links in their first few posts need to be cleared, the volunteer mod team try clear them ASAP.
On weekends it may take a little longer as the mods may be out riding:ricky

Is there anywhere I can look at my post that is currently under moderation? To see the status or edit?

It has been taken out of the moderation queue.

Don't edit it. Just leave it alone.

If you edit it, it will go back into moderation.

Long time lurker but today was my first post, listed my 2012 Hypermotard in the flea market. It has been a couple hours so just wanted to see if there was something that got me nuked. It was also a ridiculously nice day for December so maybe everyone is out riding. Anyway to check to see if I did something wrong on the post? Thanks!

Hi there, I have pretty much the same question. I tried putting up a new thread with a little video I made of a day trip, and after the great migration of the forum, the embed link was no longer ok, so I edited it (but it was still under moderation at that point). Now it looks fine, so I'm wondering how long I can expect moderation to take. I understand staff has been busy with the move, but it's been a week in all, can I expect it to be much longer? Thanks a bunch and sorry if I'm being impatient.

You should expect twelve to twenty four hours, but often it is much shorter. We're all volunteers here.
