My web host is having problems with spammers which is taking there system down intermittently..... permanent fix due shortly (I hope!)

.....back up now, downtime is only usually a few minutes ;-)

Does anybody sell a Zumo cradle that only has power? I need a 2nd cradle for ATV, and don't want all the extra wires. I have to think lots of bikes don't use the audio connections.

I have seen the modification. I was really hoping to save some money too. I thought someone told me they were able to use a streetpilot cradle.

I did something similar. Except I opened up the back of the cradle and unplugged the connector for audio. Was worried would short the wires together.

You should decide how the cable is going to run, before you mount it. There is a hole in my fairing where by bars come out. I can push the whole thing inside when it is joined. But little of a pain to push out just the power end. Not awful though. Maybe I would have left a longer tail on the GPS end, so I could shove it into the fairing.

I ordered 20 pack of RC battery connectors $10. Can put the same battery end on 4 wheeler, side by side, other bike, ect. Then I just need ball mount on each, which are fairly cheap. The cradle is what is expensive, $50 for the bike one.

I butt spliced, and then heatshrinked over the splice. I think next time would put a small piece of heat shrink on just the wire, slide on before crimping.:lol3 That way there would be less room for the wire move. I then did 3/8 heat shrink over the whole thing.

I am going to make up an end for cig charger too, one of these days.

Agreed, thanks! This info is exactly what I needed, when I needed it. Great job with the pics.
