Paper maps the writable ones are always a smart b option. Had some of the neighbouring countries from German company, but the guests took them away so probably they're good :D

C-freak pm me if you need any more info (specific), and stop for a beer at www.lobagola.com

Just for the sake of accuracy, this is not true, some insurers cover some countries, some all and bigger percentage do not cover Balkans countries (full coverage in the case of theft is more or less always excluded).

Though must agree with Albania, the last untouched part of Europe, as I'm calling it ;)

My green card covers Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegowina, Slovenia and Albania.
    Kosovo is covered under Serbia.

My Swiss insurance don't cover Kosovo, at the entrance I had to pay 10€ for a 15 insurance (I didn't look at the conditions, since 15 days ago I was riding without insurance in Georgia).
In my opinion Kosovo didn't worth that money. The east Road for entering from Macedonia is nicer than the direct one from Skopje.

I think the best part of Balkans, as for every country, are the small gravel roads up on the Mountains.

My UK insurance does not cover Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro, they will check on entry and point you to the insurance office if you are not covered.

Look for Norman Hueregeil on Facebook for reports and pics.

For a challanging route look for balcanes trail on wikiloc, there is the whole track and you can look on his blog (nachotrips.blogspot if I'm not wrong) whit daily reports.

I did most of it (not greece) with a fully loaded kle.

On my card it says something about "parts of Serbia controlled by Serbian government". So I guess no Kosovo.

Hey Frgich! As you may remember i used your services for my round trip around 8 countries in Western Europe last summer.
My insurance company in Cyprus wont cover any country outside Cyprus. In fact they say if i take the bike abroad they will void my insurance in Cyprus. Stupid i know

Anyway. I am thinking this year to go to the following countries. Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland ,Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Chezh Rep. How should i go about with insurance? Do you offer something similar like last year?
    Thanks

    Hi C,

thanks for getting back, and I'm sorry to hear your Cyprus insurer is acting uhm should i say stupid :).

As for your question, currently EU is offered and we're finishing the deal for the platform we ave announced on our website. The goal is to enable motorcycle and 4X4 people option to get border insurance from when they exit Iran and venture into Turkey with plans to ride into Africa.

Scheduled launch is end of January. We're prepping some more surprises but on that a little bit later ;).

Enjoy the holidays and all the best in 2017 !

    Hi C,

All of the countries you have mentioned except Serbia and Turkey we're covering at the moment. These two plus others we'll cover through our new platform starting from spring 2017.

    Cheers

In my opinion, Kosovo was totally worth it! I'd say it was one of the most interesting places I went to on my Balkan trip this summer. I entered Kosovo from Albania though and rode on to Montenegro. Kosovo has an interesting history and the nature between Kosovo and Montenegro was simply stunning!

I have a question about Kosovo and Serbia--is it just that you can't enter Serbia FROM Kosovo, or if you enter Kosovo you can NEVER go to Serbia?
