Thoughts? Pics? Price is right and I need to add orange bling to my silver 950. Stock screen buffets too much. I use the laminar lip w/stock screen for long trips but looking for a replacement for short rides/commuting/dirt.

I have a Moose shorty. It's okay but i don't like it. It fit fine but you get hit by ALL the wind. There is zero protection. I still get a lot of head bobble and the wind hits my shoulders pretty hard. I ride in a really windy area though.

I just ordered a Rade Garage screen hoping that will help.

I installed the moose -2.5" to see if it would stop some of the buffeting but it was a bit worse. I'm back to the OEM. I'm 5'11".

I love mine. Way better than stock. More airflow. but less buffetting. No regrets and for the price, it is worth a shot. I am 6'2" and have an 990R.
    Cheers.

Fit and finish not good. Buffeting better than stock for me. I'm 5'9 with a Fly ds helmet.

I have an orange tinted one. I really like it. I am 6' and ride a 990 Baja. It makes a huge impact on the way the bike looks. It is pretty windy where I live too but it seems like the wind does not move the bike around as much as it did with the stock screen. To me anyway.

Have one on my 990,-5",I'd rather get full airflow than the buffeting.Long distance the Cee Bailey goes on and all is well with the world.

Cut my stock screen off with a roto-zip to look just like the Moose. Actually turned out very nice. Granted, no orange but the price was right. Rides like a naked bike, but it beat the hell out of the head battering I took from the stock screen. I'm 6'-4" w/ a long torso.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I might just bite the bullet and buy the rally raid fairing. It's what I really want anyway.

Same here, I actually started laughing the first time I rode it because my head wasn't getting knocked around. I'm 5'8' tall.

Oddly the air is perfectly clean when standing, even at 70-80mph it is smooth as glass, that would be nice sitting but whatever.

That's because the screen was originally designed as a testicle protector.

I've got the moose shortie on my 2011 990 adventure & yes I think it's marginally better than the stock screen but like you I would love to the clean air you experience when standing. Would be nice to have some weather protection but seems difficult to achieve, iam 5'8" & might see what it's like with no screen at all & try to figure out how high the screen can be if at all before the dreaded buffeting starts. Have been looking at the Britannia screen / lights set up but too expensive for me at the moment, could you just fit the screen alone & not the light upgrade ?.

I had one. My opinion is that it is no worse than the stock screen.

Advantages? Looks better (matter of opinion) but more importantly there's less of a guillotine while riding offroad. My stock screen made contact with my helmet a few times. The moose never touched me.

+1 The stock screen cracked me in the bridge of the nose while riding at the sand dunes, I haven't had it on since. The moose screen fits like shit but the buffeting is really non-existent now.

I've also been smacked in the helmet twice now with the stock screen off-road.

I like the tinted version, so I'm trying to decide whether to get the moose shorty, or simply cut down mine. I've been hoping to find a used moose shorty in the FM or Ebay, but no luck so far.
