1052 Miles. Ducati GT1000. 2010 Buckeye 1000 Bun Burner - Official Iron Butt Ride. 19 hours 27 minutes. Gas tank on the GT1000 is too small - otherwise a great ride.

Most in a 24 hour day was 1538 - far short of some of the record days people have done.

    Bike: GL1800
    Miles: 1538
Trip: 50CC from San Diego to Tybee Island, GA that took 45 hours overall
Got all the receipts and witness forms, but never turned them in as it seemed too easy. It wasn't, really, but I had convinced myself beforehand that it was too difficult for me to accomplish, and once it was completed, figured it must have been too easy. :lol3

Lots of 1000+ mile days, some intentional, most accidental. Prefer the ones with a little challenge - like riding in below zero (°F) temperatures, a SS1k or BB1500 on the Haul Road with the KLR, or in the middle of a couple of 24 hour days without stopping except for food and fuel.

It not about seeing how many pieces of paper I can hang on the wall, or gaining bragging rights. It's about getting as much riding in as possible in a short time span, keeping the wheels turning as long as I'm having fun; riding until I'm tired of riding and it's not fun anymore. Then I get some sleep, get up and do it again.

IIRC Brian Roberts was his only "support crew". Pretty sure this was done entirely within the state of Nevada, where there are some pretty good open spaces to get across in a hurry.

Dale would get a couple of hours sleep while Brian serviced the bike, then get up and go again. Having someone service your bike while you catch a little shuteye doesn't take away from the fact that this was quite an accomplishment. Dale is a dyed-in-the-wool, very knowledgeable, endurance rider.

Back in 2008, I rode around 944 miles from Orlando, FL to somewhere in northern Indiana. Started at just before 4 am and stopped around 11 pm. I wasn't trying to do 1k miles but to just make time. We (a riding buddy and my dad in his truck) only stopped because we were tired.

My buddy and I rode around 6500-ish miles on that trip. The Orlando to Indiana trip was just the first leg of a mid-West US, Eastern Canada and East coast US tour.

Maybe I'll break the 1k distance barrier one day, I'm not necessarily interested in doing an Iron Butt to get a certificate, though.

I've had many a day in that 400-600 mile range which are pretty easy but have never gone any further than that. Usually when I'm with a group traveling there are one or two guys who start to get cranky if you push too far or hard. If it were just me I'd be fine doing 600+ as long as it wasn't back to back to back or I got a few days off after the big mile days.

    aprox. 700 miles
    Missoula Mt. to Eugene, Oregon
Took a total of 13 hours.
Left Missoula at 6:00 AM, stopped for breakfast In Lewiston, ID, lunch in Hood River, Oregon.
gassed up each time, and one additional gas stop in between breakfast and lunch, and between Lunch and final destination.

Normally, I like to do 300-500 mile days. I needed to get home in one day.

Best I've been able to do on a long day was 64.5 mph.

775 miles in 12 hours. NW Arkansas to Santa Fe. 650 of that was on I-40 in OK, TX, and NM.

Limited range on my LeMans meant I had to make four fuel stops. At one of the stops, I grabbed a sandwich for lunch.

I didn't dally at the fuel stops. The only way I can see making up any time would be a bigger fuel tank and drop the stops to three or two.

On another long day, I did 940 miles in 15 hours between Salida CO and NW Arkansas, averaging 62.5 mph. Again, my 160/170 mile range was a limiting factor. I did stop for a sit-down meal at a Subway in Dumas TX. Took longer than I should at some of the fuel stops.

It's hard to get an overall average past 65 mph!
