Best thing(person) I've found is a girl(my girlfriend now) who likes to ride and travel with me:D. She is the best traveling partner, for me.

The dog beats 'em all for best thing found. :clap

I dunno, I'm sure maybe someone found a wife-to-be while out riding... but I've lived with women, and I've lived with dogs... and dogs were always the more rewarding option.

Found a nice folding hunter knife. Laying right in the middle of the trail. No one else around. Just me and my kids riding at the time. Up on the Gladwin route I think...

Was heading down valley on an errand on my 950 Adventure a few years ago and as I headed into the roundabout on the edge of town I saw one of thos canvas tool bags (About 16 inches long and as big around as a basketball) so I stopped and grabbed it. Almost dislocated my shoulder when I made the quick pick up on it. It was filled with High end electricians tools and must've weighed 30 pounds. Put it in my top box and went about my day. Placed ads on craigslist and even in the local paper and never got anything but scammers replying so I kept it. Still have it too. Its been convenient more than a few times.

Never found anything useful riding, lost few things though. I had a bottle of drink strapped to the back of my 990, along with a wind proof undershirt. When i stopped, the shirt had gone, tho bottle was still there, and it was on the top. Few weeks later, i tied a liter container of motorex oil, expensive at 19 euros a liter, to the same rack, back of the bike, wouldnt you know it, at the first piss stop, the frigging oil was gone! Maybe a time to invest in one of them top boxes:D

    While on the road:

    - a full tackle box
    - a 20' length of 1" braided steel tow cable
    - half a bottle of hash oil
    - an unopened bottle of champagne at a campsite - and lots of stacked firewood too

And at the parking lot at my office (thieves use it as a hidey spot/dump site after stealing cars):

    - at least 3 sets of golf clubs
    - the contents of a fishing tackle shop
    - numerous tool boxes, some loaded
    - empty wallets :cry

Never found anything really cool, but I saw a honda civic or accord going 65+mph going up US75 in Dallas swerve in his lane. The driver door opened and a hand reached down to the pavement and snatched a loaf of Wonder bread out of the rush hour highway without slowing a bit.

I've seen lots of wrecks and such, but that takes the cake for "weird."

edit: I did find a magazine for a keltec p11 once. Traded it even for a p3at magazine from my buddy.

I don't know how I would have carried it home had I been on the bike, but yesterday I found a chainsaw laying in an intersection. Unfortunately the owner knew he dropped it and I had to give it back.

Found an ounce of pot right under the trailer as we were unloading the dirt bikes in a rest area up on the Cape. I don't know how useful it was, as I felt pretty useless for the next week or two!:lol3

I found a one gallon gas can out near the sand dunes a few years back. The spout was a little melted, like it had been on a bike and contacted the exhaust. I still have it, and use it for mixed gas for my chainsaw and weed whacker.
