Forgot about the crash bars - I don't normally think of those in relationship to frame sliders or cylinder head protectors. I've never seen a set in person, but they look like they would save the heads and provide a place for highway pegs. Not sure they will do much to save the upper fairing in a low side. Anyone had a get off with these on the bike?

All I'm worried about is a 0mph tipover. Every bike my wife has ever ridden, she's dropped it once in a parking lot

If you can lower it gently (I know, tough to do) the only thing that will take any scuffing will be the bags and maybe a bar end weight (DAMHIK) :cry

I have "dropped" my Norge 3 times. First when I had it for 2 days and I had my wife on the back. I stopped short and the bike went down on some gravel. My rear saddle bag got some nicks and my ego took a hit. My wife's knee was sore for awhile. I did the same thing solo on the same side (left). No damage. then the bike did one all by it's self. I was idling and warming up the engine and the bike crept forward and the kickstand went under.
All three times the handle bar end took all of the impact and the fairing has a couple of scratches where you can't see them. I do not know how the crash bars would help.

I've had a relatively low speed low-side with the Norge (roughly 30MPH) and what took the hit was the bag, lower and upper fairings, brake peddle and bar end weight, and clutch lever (yeah, I know, it's on the other side - what can I say:scratch) - heads didn't get a scratch.

You bastards have be seriously Jonesing for a Norge ! Been considering a used Breva 1200 Sport that is for sale here, - if it were the Norge it'd be a Done Deal. I enjoy my Futura, but.....always looking for new/better rides. Test rode the Breva sport - not bad, not nearly as fast as the Aprilia, but hardly slow.

Good thing that Moto International is so far away from me.

looking forward to next week. I'm flying up to Philly to pick up my wife's Norge and riding it back to Memphis. I've told her that if there's a storm front heading east, I'm just gonna start riding south until I find warmth, then head west. Who knows, maybe I can turn a two day ride into a week. :deal

Any Norge owner interested in testing/owning a set of 1" drop pegs from Knight Design? I have heard that lower pegs could be a problem with the side stand..anyone confirm?

I tested a set for my Griso and heard they are the same as the Norge. I had a set revised for the stock spring and will send the revised set to a Norge owner to try. Looking for more leg room? PM me and we can discuss.

I tried the adjustable ones from Moto-International. The U.S. style steel sidestand rests on the underside of the alloy peg. Not only do you get lots of engine vibrations through your boot sole, but in 600 miles the sidestand had ground a big notch in the underside of the peg. I tried placing a bumper on the sidestand, which kinda worked--the vibrations stopped and the grinding stopped but now I was dragging the stand on not-very-tight left turns. The Euro-style sidestand works OK with the MI pegs, but I like my big foolproof American sidestand too much so I got rid of the MI pegs.

Looking at your pic, I'd guess in advance that your peg will have the same sidestand problem. I can test mule it for you if you'd like. PM me.
