I think Dani will bring it on raceday, but Jorge has the better set up.

But... we've seen Hayden do well in QP before but that bike can't keep tires on it at that pace.

    +1

Throughout FP and QP MM was having the same sort of moments he had on the moto2 bike. Just a lot of near attempts at binning it. I can understand about wanting to be close to Pedrosa to get some pace off of him but............ how bout a little gap for safety sake.

    Fucking Crutchlow. WTF?

And how about that last lap for Pol Esp. in moto2 QP. Damn.

After getting a chance to watch the new Qualifying setup I have to say that it looks like Dorna finally got something right! :freaky I rather liked it!

The grid certainly doesn't look the way I would have predicted.

Crutchlow is a surprise in 2nd, as is Dovi on the 2nd row.

MM I thought would have been at least front row.

The biggest disappointment for me is Hayden. He's 1.5 sec back from his new teammate, and 2 sec from the front. I guess he's really past his sell date.

the best thing about this is that dovi is not normally a fast qualifier. He is quite often on the second row because he really tries for a good race set up.I am hoping that he can be there at the end with a little left in the tank!Onece the race starts and the track starts to get some rubber on it i think we will see dani come through but Jlo may have gone...

If you read the press releases (excuse-o-rama to the cynical):

Spies' back up bike didn't have the same rear setup as his preferred bike and he couldn't do the same lap times with it. He takes the blame for getting into T2 too hot and crashing.

Rossi blames traffic for not being able to set a good qualifying time. Says he has the race pace, though.

Marky and Pedro say they are happy and don't mention their incident.

Nicky blames bad timing and getting caught up in traffic on his fast lap. He gives Dovi props and says he will be checking his data.

AI29 says he was out of soft tires and will push for a top 10 in the race.

    Should be an interesting race.

How long is his contract with Ducati? He got out qualified by a CRT. This is looking eerily familiar. :huh

Well, it appears Lorenzo still rates Spies.

crash.net quoted Lorenzo thus this week:

"In theory for me it is the same, because I understand that Ben Spies is a great rider. Just he didn't feel great last season, but I believe he is one of the fastest riders in MotoGP."

Apparently Pedrosa had said that having Marquez alongside him in the same team was no big deal as he had always had tough team-mates, to which Lorenzo appended the quote above. Not quite clear where they were at the time - perhaps a media session at Qatar.

Looked like the smoke was trying to get out of Dovi's bike.

JLo makes new helmet sponsor HJC look poor with visor failure at pit out.
