I guess my expectations are pretty low nowadays; all I want is for them to get through the first lap intact. In that regard, Mugello sucked; OTOH, the guys who fell weren't contenders for the WC.

    1. Pedrosa is going to leave the building at the startline. No doors left ajar for Lorenzo this time out. He won't even wait for the Turnip truck to get moving or wave as he flies past on his way to turn one. Color him gone. Again he will be blessed with near-zero TV time, causing Repsol to re-think this backing the winner thing. Maybe the turnip truck IS the better billboard?
    2. Marquez, nips past Lorenzo and we have close racing for eight corners, then back to watching the CRT's blow up and tumble. By now the Turnip trucks are back harassing Cal/Rossi.
    3. Lorenzo recovers after his steam-cleaning thanks to Pedrosa, slices up the turnip truck, but is too late to get back on Dani. Rossi and Cal are left with the rolling roadblock turnip trucks in the way and both finally get by. This is the best racing of the day. Rolling chicanes, two similar bikes slicing and dicing. It's that "Slap-Chop" guy all over again, but no Sham-Wow!

Espargaro is again the first CRT. I know way out on a limb there.
He finishes ahead of the turnip trucks!:lol3

NOW, Ducati finally get it... And they try really hard to hire Max:poser

So you're saying a Turnip truck will out-qualify Pedrosa? Interesting prediction... :evil

Dovi seems to have a way with Qualifying then getting in the way.
So far Nicky has stayed back. Maybe not pushing the thing quite so hard. Who knows?
But, Dovi has been pulling out the quick laps at the right time. Just not so much for the race.

One of the problems with the ducs is that they eat the tires as the race progresses. As KRJR once said "I can put any old POS on the front row, but why do that when I'm going to drop down the field and look stupid?

Zactly. And we've seen Nicky do it too as well as run up near the front just to see the tires come off the bike.

And Dovi this season. He can qualify up front, run with the leaders early on and then finish right next to Nicky at the end of the race.

There are some indications Nicky isn't too impressed with the progress, or lack thereof, with the "lab" bike.

I am not sure I believe that he is looking to leave, though.

I think I read on GP One, that next to Rossi, Nicky is the most popular rider in the paddock and a marketing goldmine. Not sure if that is true. Maybe Krop knows? :ear

Dani was asked today's press conference about the comments he made after last race re: MM taking his set up. Apparently he thought there was a misunderstanding with the way he was quoted (or tried to portray there was a misunderstanding) and wanted to only answer the question in Spanish so he could be more clear with his words. I didn't understand what he said.

In bigger news it seems like motogp.com has gotten rid of that annoying motorcycle sound that was played at the conclusion of every video.:clap

Basically, Pedrosa said his words were taken out of context, that the settings were nothing special since Lorenzo was faster, and that if Marquez was faster it was because of Marquez and not because of the settings.

That Pedrosa didn't look at Marquez while he said any of that seemed a little suspect to me. I think he was probably quoted correctly the first time and was irked Marquez has been stalking him most of the races, but realized it was impolitic to have said it and is now backpedaling.

    Crutchlow's follow-up "please, in English, I don't understand" -- good stuff.

I'd imagine that Rossi's fans are also hardcore MotoGP fans and would continue to watch.

Dry session. While there were numerous riders riding off in this session, Bautista was the only rider to actually crash--he was unhurt.
