JLo just had a nasty high-side in T13... looked like his back wheel went just a bit over the painted curb, and the bike flicked sideways.

Looked like the front touched the paint, which started a tank-slapper which resulted in a high-side when the rear hit the paint.

Confirmed as a fractured left collarbone for Lorenzo.

I really feel sorry for Lorenzo.

If Pedrosa doesn't win the championship this year I think he never will...

Italian commentators said that he's going first to the Assen hospital, than straight to Barcelona for surgery. Probably back already at Sachsenring! :eek1

Probably never happen- too complicated with contracts, sponsors, etc...

But wonder what CC could do on JLo's bike on Saturday.

....on second thought- I doubt that the factory would risk one of JLo's engines in anyone elses hands.

With Lorenzo now out Pedrosa can breathe a bit. I wonder if he'll be content with backing off the pace a bit, if so, you'd have to fancy Crutchlow's or Rossi's chances for a win. I'd enjoy seeing Bradl make it on the podium.

I wouldn't have predicted it'd be Lorenzo, not Marquez, that broke something first (looked like aquaplaning to me: Lorenzo never touched the paint).

Pedrosa has hopefully absorbed the lessons in his own career and of the other riders this season: stay upright + podiums = championship.

Horrible damn news for JLo and motogp. Luckily collarbone and not wrist as I think wrist would be slower to heal. The championship is far from over though. Many possibilities for DP and MM to have DNFs. I want DP to win the championship but I am hopeful JLo can come back soon and strong. He's an incredible racer.

Will Rossi be holding a "Get well soon JLo" poster on the grid saturday?:huh

Yeah, it still seems wide open to me. 30 points with more than half the season to go isn't much of a gap.

Lorenzo is tough too. Remember him push starting his bike in China with a snapped ligament in on ankle and a fracture in the other. He still finished 4th. It depends on the break but if it's possible he'll be back and racing hard very soon.

I'm thinking it looks like the collection of water at the pseudo-gutter between the paint and racing surface. Just the edge.
