A place many ADV Riders fear: The Nation's Capital
I am trying to find less expensive insurance for my bike in Washington, DC. Because of the nature of life in the "Nation's Capital", the few companies that write policies here are somewhat expensive.

So, to those Adventure Riders in Washington, DC that actually insure their bikes in the District, could you please let me know who you insure your bike with? :ear

I really don't need to know about Virginia, Maryland, South Dakota or Hawaii unless you are willing to adopt me. Just DC, please. :bueller

    Hey Chris,

I use GEICO. E-mail me if you want details.

Chris, I was USAA for the bikes and happy for over 20 years, then the premiums skyrocketed. Ended up with Geico, much cheaper - $850 for full coverage on three bikes annually, but then they went up on the policy renewal by $100 for only two bikes on the second year.

I just switched to Allstate - they just started writing policies in VA for bikes and I'm back to where I was with Geico.

Lesson learned, they are cheap the first year, but once they have you, they might try to raise your rent. The good news, if you are clean, you can change to anybody that's cheaper. The bad news, a ticket or accident locks you in with your current company and you can just bend over.
