Quick question: How are you guys carrying your DSLR's on the offroad riding??

I ride through some pretty nasty stuff offroad, and would worry about the camera being bounced around too much???

Tank bag with a little foam under it, I have thousands of miles gravel roads with this setup. Never had a problem even with wash-boarded roads which would be the worst for the camera.

I stash mine in my pack. I have a small padded bag I can fit camera+lens and a 2nd lens into with some accessories, and a bigger bag I can fit most everything into.

On the sled I just stuff the camera in the top of my pack, 2nd lens wrapped in a small towel in the pack. Accessories n' stuff go in a pouch inside the pack.

I'd get a good compact or a micro 4/3 camera for the bike, I wouldn't take a dSLR offroad.

The DSLR...or at least pro models I wouldn't worry about as long as it's attached to your body..on your back or front in a padded case.

That said a crash could be many times worse for your body with an item like that on your chest or back..:huh

I agree with the above..I would never take mine on a true off road run unless it was only for photography and my riding style would be much more subdued.

I ride with a dslr and two lenses on every ride including dirt biking in a backpack.... The only time I had an issue was with the Pelican case on the back of my 990 from the vibration. It spun my UV filter off the lens and gouged the glass. I won't do that ever again.

I was wandering through Peru on dirt roads when I came to a roadblock, I tried to ride up and around it and crashed pretty hard, all the locals came out to help me get my bike back on the road- such sweet people... I jumped down the hill to take this pic
