One of my favorites is "Indian Motorcycles" by Fred Eaglesmith.

    "Indian motorcycles
    Saturday night citations
    Northern boys in southern cars
    And one pump stations
Starter pistols 'neath the quarter moon
    The sound of engines revvin'
I was born in the spring time of the '57 Chevy"

Not really a motorcycle song, but the opening line is "The motorcycle club had a party"...

I was just thinking that as well. Just saw him this past Thursday night in Green Bay. Great show, great band. Gotta admire some of these older guys whom still give a 110% performance and seem to have alot of fun doing it.

I don't think this one has been mentioned, "Motorcycle Mama" by Poppa Cubby. Cool song from a cool bluesman.

Rolled into Colorado Springs just ahead of an April snowstorm one time. The wife and I were frozen after crossing the Rockies. We walked into a cafe, mostly to warm up. Just as I opened the door an old juke box started playing Turn the Page as performed by Metallica. It was the first time I heard it and it really fit the situation!

On a long and lonesome highway
    East of Omaha
You can listen to the engine
Moanin' out his one note song
You can think about the woman
Or the girl you knew the night before
But your thoughts will soon be wandering
    The way they always do
    When you're ridin' sixteen hours
And there's nothin' much to do
And you don't feel much like ridin',
You just wish the trip was through

    Here I am
    On the road again
    There I am
    Up on the stage
    Here I go
    Playin' star again
    There I go
    Turn the page

Well you walk into a restaurant,
    Strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you
As you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you
But you just want to explode

Most times you can't hear 'em talk,
    Other times you can
    All the same old cliches,
"Is that a woman or a man?"
    And you always seem outnumbered,
You don't dare make a stand

Music is the universal language and the best songs are the ones that we can place ourselves in and feel it is our song, but I never imagined that Turn the Page had anything to do with motorcycles.

I thought it was a rock and roll singer's life on the road in a tour bus....... or maybe a beat up old van.

    Last verse;

Out there in the spotlight you're a million miles away
Every ounce of energy, you try to give away
As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play

Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers ringin' in your head
You smoke the days last cigarette, remembering what she said

    Great collection of road songs
but you missed the best Steve Earle song "the Other Kind"

Nowadays I got me two good wheels
and I take refuge in aluminum and steel
it takes me out there for just a little while
and the years fall away with every mile

I'm back out on that road again
turn this beast into the wind
there are those that break and bend
    I'm the other kind

    check it out on youtube
