Am I the only one around here who gets a woody looking at those two cylinders sticking out with those dual pipes shooting out of them?

I love seeing the cylinders, but the scrawny looking exhaust (finishing in a Two Brothers muffler) has always bothered me. Just looks rinky-dink in my opinion.
From there web site "taking reservations now for Spring/Summer 2013 delivery." And the first pic on there website looks like some in-process parts laid out on a table. Maybe it's actually happening.
I would make the assumption that the headers are sized appropriately for the flow they want.
Only thing you could really do is cover them with heat sheilds.

I would guess they went with them because they're made in the US.
A lot of bikes do have double walled head pipes.

I was thinking something along the lines of a double-walled tubing; companies use it all the time. This is a premium product after all, so I don't think it's totally out of left-field. But as I said, personal opinion about something that is aesthetic.
Yes, on the MST-R. Every picture of the MST has it with the Two Brothers, including all the ones on their website. Lower tuned engine, different wheels, different rotors, different calipers (Brembo, but not the monoblocks), different rear shock, and it appears different muffler.
On a side note, I wonder how much of the $6K premium on the MST-R is wrapped up in the BST Carbon Fiber wheels? I'm sure Motus is getting some kind of a discount, but the retail on a set is around $3600. Personally, I think carbon fiber wheels are entirely unnecessary on a ST oriented bike.
Cruisers sure. Yeah let's use twice as much metal as required just so it can stay shiny. Never understood that. The pipes on my R1200RT used to turn a nice shit brown color from the road crud being baked on and at least once a month there'd be some guy posting on the BMW ST site, "How do I clean my pipes?" :huh

I doubt you they have stated on brand as the bike hasn't passed EPA. This could impact noise requirements and the brand of pipe used. The other equipment isn't related to that and has been nailed down.
Oh come on. All types of aesthetic decisions go into the designs of a motorcycle that sometimes trump outright practicality; let's not pretend that the MST (especially the R version with its carbon fiber wheels) is all about being utilitarian and nothing more. As I said, it was a aesthetic niggle. Some people don't give a shit about anything appearance related, and some lose their shit if their bike gets a scratch...most of us fall somewhere in between these extremes. The fact that so many people comment how lovely the engine looks sitting out on the open like that, and not hidden under a bunch of plastic is a testament to appearance (good or bad) mattering at least a little bit. This is a $30K boutique motorcycle, not a Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
Fair point. It may end up being cheaper for them to spec and certify a single exhaust for both bikes, but I still wouldn't be surprised to see a Two Brothers can hanging off the back back of the base model. Hopefully the Akro gets the nod in both cases.
The website shows Akrapovics on the $37,000 model. I would bet they are part of the $6000 upgrade like the fancy wheels.
Even if only the base model gets the Two Brothers, that's still not great for $31,000 motorcycle.......and there is no excuse for the Givi luggage on either of them.
I don't see any aftermarket system passing noise regs.
Which luggage would you prefer they use?
Any luggage that will pass the previously mentioned noise regs, though loud clothing does save lives
Doubtless they chose off-the-shelf luggage partly for cost reasons but it also happens to fit very well with the theme of the bike.
If you scratch up or otherwise damage a bag, just go to Givi and pick up a new one. No need to go through the bike maker, wait weeks and pay double.
So much funny stuff in this thread. Most of it has been consumed with whining about the price of the bikes, but now the complaint is it doesn't have enough bling. :huh
And then there's the really big complaint: too expensive, not enough bling - and you can't buy one yet!!!!
