Is a MPG figure on a $30,000 motorcycle really necessary? If the thing gets 20mpg, and runs on Dom Perignon, anyone shelling out the kind of dough required to by a "toy" doesn't really care.

I wonder if folks plopping down the cash for a Lexus LFA ask, "what kind of mileage does she get?". It's like some one buying a Prius and asking, "what's it do in the quarter?" LOL! :lol3

I'll never be rich enough to own anything like the Motus, but you can bet if I was, I'd be more interested in how much it was going to cost me when the cops caught me speeding than the fuel mileage. :lol3

Yes, because we can't all complain about GDI being removed from the engine if the fuel economy is good!

That actually is a relevant criterion in a sport-tourer, not because of the cost of gas, but because of its implications for range. Bikes carry a pretty limited fuel supply, and a good sport-tourer ought to have a range on one tank of close to 200 miles, or more.

Gee, looks like I missed a lot by checking out when I did last night. Though I think I made out better by taking 10/10ths suggestion. :evil :rofl

Ok, back on task: The guys were getting over 40mpg on the prototypes even after pulling the GDI. They've gone for the offset valve configuration instead. That on a 6gal tank makes the range around 240+ miles.

..if Motus can get 240 miles to a tank, that makes the machine even more attractive.

I really like the Honda VFR1200F, but most folks report 160 miles to a tank, and that is not enough.

I am liking this Motus more and more. I really hope they can make this happen. My biggest concern is that as a small, start-up company, they won't have the resources to properly develop the fuel injection system and be able to invest enough time and money and resources to REALLY sort the bike out.

I work as a product trainer in the auto industry, and you need millions and millions of dollars and lots of engineers to really develop a mass produced vehicle without bugs.

Shoot, look at Honda's first gen RC51, the SP-1. That bike had horrible fueling...and that was Honda.

I really hope Motus can pull this off. I want one.

I will sell the V-Strom and transfer my Scott Oiler eSystem chain oiler over to the Motus.

They are going to have a modern chain so none of that messy stuff is needed. :1drink

Sorry, but half the people that post here would love nothing more than to have them fail before they even start.

Yep it seems that way.. Talk about a cool bike that my wife loves and possibly talk shop with real riders.. I end up at the end of a few days, in Peyton place..
