Anybody got input on MRA Vario windscreens for an 800GS? Any good? Quality? Alternatives thats aren't so pricey I'd have to sell my first born?

The stock one is fine for peeing about, but as good as a chocolate teapot on the highway!!

    Cheers

buy an MRA screen. I got one for my F 650 gs 2008 mod. On city speeds its a tiny bit better than the low factory item. It diverts your air stream from your neck to your face and uper helmet. Over 120 klm/h the air stream hits the helmet mid screen in a way that you caqnt see anything from the vibration. I am 173 cm tall and my helmet is a bmw integral one. Further more, I send the company an email requesting any help or suggestions. No answer. So never...

I have recently swap the OEM windscreen of my 800 for a Touratech highscreen + a MRA spoiler on top of it.
As far as I'm concerned, it's quite close to perfect !

1.83 Meter, a lot less wind noise in the helmet than with the oem screen. It think that it would be absolutely perfect if I were 1.80 M !
And in case you've asked helmet is a bmw system 5

I have the TT screen and I was considering using the MRA spoiler from an old screen I have.

The issue with the TT screen is that is not stable making all the instrument panel shaking in strong wind. If I use the MRA spoiler, I am afraid it will be worse.

Have you tested the screen with the MRA spoiler on top with strong wind?

Which Touratech screen do you have on?

I was thinking of just adding the touratech spoiler to the stock OEM screen, but doubting if it'd make much difference?

Ive just fitted one and used it for the first time today, first impression is that its so much better than the stock screen at 70mph the wind noise /buffeting seemed to be halved with the screen set to the top position on the way back set it at 2 clicks and it didnt seem as good, will go for a better ride on monday and try different positions but its better thats for sure :D

    Hi,

Yes in strong winds the Touratech screen is kind of shaking, but not the instrument panel!
It does shake, but it certainly appears to be within tolerances. No cracking where the screws go...

I got this screen from a fellow who has ride +- 30.000 km with it.

    Cheers

Messed about with my one on a 100 mile ride Monday and had some thoughts on improving it for me
I made up some little flat metal bits out of some 1/8th inch flat steel measuring 30mm X 15mm drilled 2 holes in it and fitted them to the bottom screen mounts pushing the screen forward at the top by about 2 inches, the middle front mounts are out of whack but ive put 2 rubber spacers there now to stop the screen from trying to come back
the ride to work today was extreemly comfy 70mph with the visor open no problems at all the streem of air seemes to have been pushed over the top of my helmet and the wind noise is by far better, just an idea that has worked very well for me, if anyone wants to try I can post a pic of the little spacers :D
