Sounds like someone needs to head to ____________, the current tag location, and keep it moving. :D Once a tag is placed, with a mascot, I'll update the first post of this thread with rules concerning the mascot, etc. :deal

    Game On!!! :clap

Anybody have an ADV patch that we could sew on? It would make the mascot way more rugged. Like going from street tires to knobbies...come to think of it, he needs to be a BAMF.

    I'm thinking Les Stroud caliber

I'm not that fond of canned tags, primarily because I think it defeats the purpose of the game, which is to get out and ride! Also, in a state as sparsely populated as ours, placing a tag in Tishmingo State Park from a ride I did 2 months ago, might result in the tag staying there a while.

In other words, if you rode to it in an afternoon just to place a tag, somebody else will likely ride there to get it.

As for the mascot, sure, why not. It will get lost. But we could try and keep up with it.:D What does having a mascot do to the "first to post gets the tag" rule?

    Just my $0.02

Oh yeah, while I'm contributing I like a 36 hour time limit.

Read some of the other tag games, such as the "Valley Dual Sport Tag-o-rama" which is the first one I started following on here that used a mascot as the game got moving. Whoever gets the mascot gets the tag, no matter who posts first. Mascots are hidden in pipe, under a brick, in the dirt, behind a tree, etc. and usually work mostly for off road or remote tag locations.

Think I am about to head out for a short sunset ride.... :norton

Follow the simple rules, laid out by backwoods. As he sees need, I am sure he will adjust them, as needed.

I'm gonna say whatever works, but i think a time period of 48-72 hours.....just a thought.....as for the mascot...eh......Seems like it could be fun, but I'm thinking it will get lost or stolen with in short order. Of course whoever loses could be responsible for choosing the next mascot...could make for some fairly comedic mascots lol.:evil

I'll mostly be riding weekends. I get off work at 3 every afternoon, but being the time of year it is, i won't be leaving to go tag hunting in 98+ degree temps :freaky

Early Sat and Sun however, I'm all over it.:norton

I like the idea of a mascot. It would give us all something to sort of look after and be defensive of! :D

While we are waiting for someone to score my TAG why not talk about what kind of mascot would be good. Or do you just want the next person to dream it up solo.

What do other TOR's use. My thought is that if it looks too cool it will get stolen.

I think it should be small enough to be hidden and I once had a key chain that had something like this on it.
If this is found please return to owner by calling 1-800-GSA- 1200.

The only one I have heard of getting stolen was one in the NATOR (North America). Someone placed it in a flower bed at Coney Island.

Here are some mascots from some other games:

Don't tell me this tag is going to stand until Saturday and I'll have to take my first REALLY long ride to go retrieve the tag? :huh

It's over 3 hours each way for me. I've always wanted to go there, but I hate riding slab and would have to take the back farm roads and smaller highways to get there which will take even longer...

AND remember that who ever scores this TAG gets to pick the mascot.

That would be so cool to be the one to create our mascot and set it out for the first time.

I wish I could go get the tag, buy my first chance won't be until July 4th weekend :cry

It's a fair piece down the road for me as well. (2-2.5hrs one way)

As for the mascots, I'd say something like a toy (like the suggested motorcycle). Something that we don't have to worry about being in the weather too.

Okay, who is free on Saturday? (June 27)

I think my kids may be going to visit their mom this weekend, which means I am free to RIDE! It will be hot, but it means I might finally get to visit GZ and pick out the new mascot. I would love to have someone to ride along with me since this will be my longest trip to date...

I'd like to make the trip but unfortunately have to work instead. I came *so* close to riding up there to get it Sunday, but it was just too freakin hot!
