As i remember. You must install drivers twice. First after connect device. Second after device placed in flash mode. Also you need switch usb from mass storage to picture mode and enable adb.

P.S. Bonus tip: you can access to root shell via adb shell from PC.

But via adb I think I can't flash anything, I need run fastboot... What kind of keys must I touch for the mt5001 become to recovery or fastboot mode?

I think Phoenix working via oropiretary proto and flash full image.
Recovery/fastboot is useless, because unit not have nav keys.

At last I could flash mt5001, and also format the device but I saw the image is different than the original, because I was deleted iGo App I didn't use it and the new image hasn't it...
How is possible that the company that sell me this device, send me an image than can't resolve at least minimally my problems

When Prolech support sent me a new image and the Phoenix "Suit" software, they specifically warned me to backup iGo (and other data) before flashing the new image and specifically told me that iGo would need to be reinstalled as it was not present in the new image.

I also had issues flashing the new image. Be sure that the GPS is in MTP mode (not set as a USB Mass Storage device).

Finally I install U-blox module from V.KEL. It's bigger then stock. But easy fit after battery relocation. Also satellites find faster, than stock. I not reconfigure any params like command rate or refresh rate, all work fine "out box".

Is anyone else experience Bluetooth connectivity issues? Recently the unit pops up with a message that sharing has stopped and it goes back to using the speaker. After hitting okay on the message it pops back up or the bluetooth reconnects. Tried pairing with another headset and got the same results. This on and off continues for 25 to 30 minutes before becoming stable and remaining connected.

Doesn't seem to be a headset issue. Seems more like the gps unit itself.

Photos of my sun shield for the GPS. Cut plastic sheet, bent using heat gun. Sanded the edges smooth. 20170415_085152.jpg 20170415_085223.jpg

    Hi folks,

I bought this GPS in June for a trip to thy Pyrenees. I liked the idea of android as i'm using OSMAND+. So I ordered one item on Ebay. The first one did not work, it did nor find any GPS signal. Send it back and recieved a "new" item. The IGo maps were old, I've been send a new version with still old maps. So I removed IGo and installed OSMAND+. This worked without any problem and I even installed the maps on an external SD Card.
The device is slow, really slow. The touchscreen does not work really good, so I (almost) did not succeed in entering something with gloves.
After 2 weeks biking, it just stopped working, just rebooting during driving. Not so funny searching a hotel in a city.
So, by my fault!, I pressed (beeing angry) on the screen and now the touchscreen (only the touchscreen) is broken.
Contacted the vendor on ebay, no reponse for an exchange item.
I opened the GPS for disassembling it.
The seal on the android had already be broken!!!! So I suppose that my exchanged item was already faulty and the vendor already touched it as by opening the body it is impossible to break the seal.

My question: does anybody know where I could buy a 4 wire touchscreen fitting the GPS?
The dimensions are 117,5 mm x 67,2 mm, 4 wire.

I searched on ebay and google for a touchscreen membrane panel.

I ordered a panel on ebay (2,5$) with dimensions 117x 70 just for testing or maybe fitting it somehow in the casing and fixing it with glue/silicone....

    Regards,

I'm sorry about what happened to you. It really is very slow that device and in the end it is better to use it only with the stick that comes with the adapter ... I have installed a tomtom and although it goes well, the device has very limited RAM. In the end I bought another model a little more expensive but much better.

The new ones have 1 GB RAM, instead of the 512 MB.
Sorry, but I cannot help you with the screen. Maybe Prolech (http://www.prolech.net/) will send you one?

Did you managed to built this converter in the cradle? EDIT: no, it's the separate one.
And can you provide a link where to buy? Mine is losing it's charge also. I thought that was a Smartphone 'thing': putting the current down to let's say 500 mA. I have the same issue with my Nomu S10 phone (also used for TomTom Go and Osmand+) and Chinese converters (usb type). Maybe this converter overules it?

    Thanks, Marten
