Gonna try for Saturday my bike isn't vintage but I am
Opening round, as told by The League -
The weekend started off well. I dragged old OJ off the porch to act as a work mule this weekend -
Hmmm, I had not started, washed, nor even paid any attention to the old crock since Roswell last November. Some Haystack mud still clinged to the skidplate -
Loading up, rarin' to go!!!
Arrive, do some cleanup on the loop and sections, hang out with old friends, and...
Got up Saturday morning to discover a flat tire on the Team bike. :huh
I had noticed it the night before, and texted Hammer to save the day. He came through with a new tube, installed right before the horn sounded for Saturday's Trial. Not a good way to start the day -
Stupid cheap-assed Chen Shin tubes really ought to last more than 5 years anyway. I'm gonna fire off an angry e-mail....
The Team bike did get a new plate just for this season, courtesy of The Hammer -
The League. 'Nuff said!
Signup, with an old twist -
Yup, Hammer sportin' da dreads!!
Day One. Some Carnage.
We are not even to our first section when this happens to Yosemite's TY -
Yowza! A quickie fix, and we are on our way to our first section! Go get 'em!!!
Oh, this is gonna be a long day!!!
Some random shots of day one -
Boss Lady, who drew the short straw to ride with us Goofballs -
Yours Truly -
Ah, young love between TY80's -
Hey baby! Remember when we did this on the way to Sturgis on our first TY80?
Day one ended with a killer feed put on by Old Geezer and his teenage bride , with the storms moving in. Wind, rain, hail, sleet, locusts, plague, et al came in Saturday evening. After the worst part had moved on, it was an early night for the campfire kids.
Sunday. More Carnage!!
The wind had blown hard all night, but at least it rained too! We're not afraid, it's time to go ride!!
Oh wait, a flat on Yosemite's bike, and the pipe had come adrift on the Team TY!! :huh
The Fred Flintstone tools did not work on the pipe -
So Yosemite Matt went back to camp for some slime and tools. I did not get a shot of Yosemite sliming the rear tire of his TY, but did get a shot of Hammer fixing the Team TY -
Gonna be a long day.... :huh
We had an interloper join in on the TY festivities. JB Brown -
Boss Lady -
Hey Yosemite! How well does that bike run again? -
We fought rain, hail, and snow all day long. This loomed on the horizon most of the day -
But we don't care, for we are...
At the end of the day, I had a really bad get-off on the loop to section 8. Over the bars, bashed in the fuel tank, and broke a fin off of the new cylinder head -
The nasty weather continued on the way home, but at least it was a tail wind!!
Battered, bruised, and scarred, The League will be back!
More to come...
Nice report Brewtus, this was a fun event, and seeing the league in action will make you smile!
Great event report!
Looks like you guys are having way to much fun out there. Kinda makes me think about moving to Alba-turkey.
Wow! You guys are HUGE!!!
Nah...just their egos!
Well, we are The League after all.....
You guys are a bad influence
Nice, you will love it once you cross over.
I wondered who bought it! Now this we need to lower the mounts, get new pegs, gear it down to an 11 tooth counter shaft sprocket and you`ll be good to go!
That's sweet BEEF! Nice score!!
I want a TY now!!
You certainly know how to ride one -
Waitaminute. Aren't you getting a KT??
Wow! I forgot about that. Last time I was there I had a hard time getting up that tire on the 4RT!
I don't know on the KT...he came by the house two days ago and said he was bringing it by that night...haven't seen him since. Still rather have a TY!
Thanks for the encouragement guys.
Played with the new gal a bit tonight, and I learned a couple of things.
1. TY's are a hoot
B. The clutch action is a bit different than my Beta :eek1
You need to gear it down so no clutch needed.
We don't use no stinking clutch. :eek1
