I have to be in Mumbai for work, and won't have very much free time, but I wondered if there are any moto-happenings or things to do or see in town or relatively close?

    Thanks!

Howdy partner, do you mean Mumbai India?

If so how the hell would we know in Aussie? :lol3

Edit: I stand corrected I tend to forget we share this forum with our neighbours because Aussie and NZ make the majority of the posts - thanks Mouse

stack this is named the asia/oz/kiwi forum

fredly farmer, you mightn't get too much of an answer here, there are not many indian residents active...

have you tried searching all of advrider using the search engine?

i'd guess the congestion might be hell, the road users will probably drive over you before giving way and that the bikes will possibly do 35mph if and only if you ride them off a cliff - in other words a good fun ride!

There are some regular posters from India but I think they live in Bangalore. I lived in New Delhi for a few years and there was an active expat bike scene there. You might get lucky and be able to talk a friendly Enfield dealer into hiring you a 2nd hand bike and you can go out and explore the region.

I went to Mumbai about 18 months ago for 10 days. Even though i had a weekend free - I wouldnt imagine getting on a bike. Firstly traffic is insanely thick and complete anarchic. There are no directions on streets which weave around erratically. Imagine yourself blindfolded in a large sunday market - and you get the drift. Then there the overwhelming humas mass and poverty. Mumbai is like 20 mil people living their own nest of shit. Depite this its an exciting city - with amazing color and things to see. Sit back and let your hosts guide you - thats the only way.

    exactly
thats the whole indian experience. Get amongst it. For some insane reason i owned 4 bikes in Delhi (3 Brit classics and an Enflied) plus a Volvo. I used the Volvo as daily transport but still enjoyed riding the bikes.

You simply have to be comitted to the biking lifestyle, if you don't get it then you never will.
