SA Adv Riders took up the challenge & headed up the Darling for the inaugural "Mungo Muster" to meet & greet old & new friends enjoying life.

Departures were over a couple of days due to various work commitments :baldy :boid but eventually everyone got away :flip with a few joining forces for the return journey while unfortunately others experiencing bone realignment episodes and taking destiny into their own hands.
    Get well soon guys :clap

Aussie Jase KTM640, bwvtom (Brett) tiger & myself TDM Adventurer escaped in 38C heat on Thursday heading for the Mouth of the Mullaroo Creek on Lindsay Island between Renmark & Mildura.

A quick squirt down the black stuff to Walkers Flat before hitting the "cool" dirt :evil

Over the Murray & onto the infamous Bakara Sand Track, to run the gauntlet of 5 kms of soft, loose sand while simultaneously avoiding the marauding wild Ozzie animals hell-bent on attacking you from bushes either side of the track.:2guns

Then escaping through unfenced paddocks around Bakara Well & onto Renmark to be greeted in style by "The Couger" with ice cold beers in hand & a longing for adventure

CharlieW (Dominator) & kano650 (DR650) partnered the next day via the ailing Lake Bonney, Barmera. While MikeF (Brand New KLR650) & 1WD (KTM990) also departed Friday as did DRBlue (DR650)

After a delicious steak sandwich in Loxton we embarked on the historic "Old Mail Route" between Renmark & Mildura before turning onto Lindsay Island for a refreshing swim in the Mullaroo Creek

We were later joined in festivities by the "Three Amigos" including the right or wrong, honourable "Mayor of Mullaroo" complete with chesterfield mayoral chair

Chef dogsbody was excelling "Order in the house lads..........................chop??? ...... c##ts ... anyone?"

The morning after the Bose' saturated atmosphere of the night before's entertainment, which included totally depleting all alcoholic stores was very quiet for some reason

What? ......... what? ........ what? ......... who said I had chocolate?

Drago always looking happy & refreshed was off for a tad of trout fishing for breakfast

The Couger had other ideas about power & authority! .........

We left after exploring tracks around the island, heading back to Renmark & around to the Chowilla Game Reserve & the famous 'Suicide Bridge"

OK Brett! ................................. your time to lead ..................:lol3

The next bridge wasn't much better

Finally Todd's Monument,:bow which didn't mean much to the lads by this time, so we kept going

As we were having too much fun, time escaped us and we decided to high-tail up the tar to Pooncarie from Wentworth joined surprisingly by DRBlue who had just arrived direct from Adelaide

Unfortunately the Pooncarie pub was some distance from the camping ground, just ask "slab" who apparantly walked into a fence or tree halfway home & stayed the night

The Pooncarie Races are interesting..................especially when the fillies run :evil (not shown in this photo)

Next day east, then south to Mungo & over the ancient dry lakes

always vigilant for the herds of emus, roos & goats

My first flat tyre on the TDM, a slick lick marks the spot though, thanks Jase :lol3

The 70km self-drive tour of Mungo N.P. was interesting across the lake floor to the Walls of China over the dunes to the mallee country & then around the eastern shore of the lake.

Walking back in time over layers of dunes, you wonder how plants still grow out here

Finally we arrive at Top Hut Station

and the ministry of sound, snoring den of antiquities

some of the SA crew bedded in for the night........................what? mattresses? .......................................sheer luxury :poser

CharlieW still collecting straw for his bed

Delayed by wreck collecting duties, Drago & the grog wagon were swamped on arrival

Firstly his own remote controlled Honda failed it's first test bouncing down the road without trailer or rider

then 1WD's, KTM990 decidingly looking a challenge harder than Chinese Algebra to repair

"Geez guys.......................I really enjoyed last nights meal, it was so meaty ..... who carved it?" ..... quipped dogsbody, looking the best we'd seen him on the trip so far

Farewells said and The Couger started makin' his big black pig squeal

South of Mildura the gnarly Adventure Riders huddled decidedly awkward under bushes as thunder, lightning & rain came teeming down ......... mind you we made sure a well earthed power pole was nearby :lol3

Then onto Emments Bend south of Colignan...................... " just what I needed.................... a decent tooth pick "

Carefull boys....................the locals seem to take the water allocation situation seriously

Searching for a campsite, we appointed at least one rider to watch for river red gum branches

    The perfect location

Surprisingly not afraid of water, The Couger waded across the "mighty" Murray........................egging on Aussie Jase, fresh from central Australia, to try his luck with the KTM

After settling down a bit, Jase set about building his mansion for the night...............again! ...........and again! ........... and again! :thumb

you could tell he hadn't seen much rain at Roxby lately

Sunset on the Murray ...................................just glorious :raabia

Escaping with our lives after a few more loose comments about the Vics, we all headed for the border as fast as we could with wounds to prove the unrest we caused :poser

Following the previous nights storms we decided not to tackle the Murray Sunset Park, but headed west on the Carwap Rd, that is until we struck a very slippery section before Loxton, which got the heart racing & the mud flying

Finally as a good will gesture ..........."chocolate anyone?'

After another hearty lunch at the Loxton Pizza Bar, we attacked the Bakara Well tracks in reverse with enthusiasm, thoroughly enjoying their high speed hard packed twisty whoops through closed in undergrowth ever hiding the occasional roo & emu to keeps witts alert :wings

Once all the chocolate was gone, Aussie Jase required refueling his sim card

Another fabulous trip could not be complete without a final REAL bakery refresher

Fabulous ride...........fabulous riding buddies.........fabulous friends old & new.

    cya again soon

    Good work MB.

Thats the only problem with the Mullaroo mouth- its a fairly popular spot with a lot of the locals.
Next time you might want to have a look downstream from Lock 7- some nice sandbars to camp on if the weathers hot and you fancy a nice section of private beach.

I think I know that greasy red clay flat you found on the way home- just inside the border fencline is my guess??

    Good report as always :)

    Great ride report Kym,

What the F@#$ was that wet stuff coming from the sky on the last night?

    The Bakery stop was good!
Must do that again some time.

So glad it didn't ruin the Chocolate.

Well done Kym, great report and I don't think I can look at chocolate again after where Jase stores it!!.

Notso, we were glad just to see water at this stage as it was 40 degress and all the beers and ice melted in one of my dry bags in 1 hour!!.

I wonder if Dogsbody has started his cookbook yet. (Cooking with C&^%$) or started on his autobiography (The C&%#%$ I've Met).

Great trip guys and still have the arrow for next years presentation.
