Alpine, TX - Last week
It's so nicely done, I thought a close-up in order
Very Nice, looks like you were having good weather.
Thanks. 13 days in the road and only 2 with a little drizzle. Not bad at all.
Good thing for me - "There is no beauty without strangeness." - Detroit.
Sorry for the delay. Finally made it back down there today. Hopefully the picture quality is acceptable. Took it with my new Galaxy Note 8, but this is the first mural shot taken with it, so I've yet to become familiar with the new features.
Happy Thanksgiving ... or Black Friday. While many were out scouring the stores for bargains, I was out sniffing out murals on this balmy (actually had to remove gear) late November day. It paid off when I had a fortuitous encounter with this spectacular and larger than life mural. Larryboy should like this one; Pat Perry is an incredible artist.
Murals in the Market is producing a lot of nice murals. I heard there are over 50 in the area.
Larryboy - maybe you'll like this one better. It's more vivid. By the way - check out the Mustang emblem on the right side of the dash.
Those are two amazing murals.
Probably 50 new ones. I'll bet there are hundreds scattered about the city !
A lot of murals in this thread that others would like to see but a lot of posters won't post the locations.
I find some of them on Google Street view, but new ones like yours don't show.
I search news articles, Flickr, Pinterest, etc trying to find their locations.
Whn/If I find them, I'm posting them on a Google Map for later reference.
It is still a work in progress as I've only found about 1/3 of them so far.
Probably the best mural that you have posted. Keep up the good work. Maybe our paths will cross someday downtown.
I hear you. For me, it is hard to take the time to record and share a precise location. Mostly because I get so far behind from trying to squeeze so much into each riding season. For instance, I've still got a pile of mural shots to sort through and post, not to mention photographs and Ride Reports (doing my best to tend to my ongoing thread in Daytrippin' too) from this year. Could spend all Winter trying to get caught up; probably still wont. Rode every state west of the Mississippi this year except ND, and many of the eastern states, five Iron Butt Rides, two being Bun Burner Golds. Full-time job, wife, 2 kids, 3 dogs, 1 cat, a house. Damn, I'll never get caught up ! Burning the candle at both ends.
Thanks for the effort @GAS GUY , those are great!! Really like the lantern over the window, the artist has some serious talent.
Done the Nullarbor three times and seen plenty of Silo's, but not like that. Where is this one, Dave?
