    hey guys,

i will be wandering around your great state of california for a few weeks this november. looking to hit all the hotspots and check out to real deal mx scene. maybe watch some amatuer racing, etc.

i will be checking out A day in the Dirt as well.

basically this is what i have for a checklist so far.

Glen Helen, day in the dirt
    malcom smith motosports
hangtown, when i head up the coast.

any other suggestions? is there any dirtbike junkyards? google only helps so much.

i will be out there on the dr650 so i wont be looking to do any racing myself but down for off road riding as well.

When you are at Glen Helen you are so close to famous Cleghorn off ramp. Nice easy ride over the mountain on your DR650. Then down the road a spell then easy dirt again towards Big Bear. Weather permitting, it CAN snow at higher elevations in November, it can also be 80 in the shade!

Close to Highway 2 also. One of the best roads around. Weather permitting. I've ridden it Christmas and New Years, also it's been snowed out November to Jan...you never know.

You are not that far from Lake Elsinore either. Ask Malcolm about that!

You can watch people riding for fun at the Prairie City SVRA park - where the hangtown race is held in May - but there aren't any events worth going there to watch in November.

    Event calendar: http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=24068

If you're here on a DR650 and have a Saturday available, I could show you a few dirt roads and trails in the area. You could also get in touch with the Gold Country Dual Sport Riders to find others in the area who may be more flexible was to when they can go out riding.

Here are a few places to consider:

I'm not sure about the museum hours but the White Brothers have a pretty nice setup.

    This place, well... just because.

It's now the entrance to a landfill site but once uppon a time it was the entrance to Saddleback Park. If you squint you can still see the track and smell the Castrol R.
