I have a thread on Old Skool about this bike and decided to put my rides with it here. Seems appropriate. :D Been along time since it was a pile of boxes. Here's the bike.

    Here's the story behind it.

I got up at 4am so I could make it for the 8am breakfast.

See how blurry eyed I am?:rofl

    Starting mileage.

Hope I don't wake the neighbors too much.

Crossed the San Mateo bridge in the dark and onto 580 east.

Coming up to the Benicia Bridge. Gotta pay $5 now.:deal

You may just be able to make out the mothball fleet out there in the Suisun Bay.

You can just make out the refineries.

Gas stop and a quick bite to eat.

Hmm, mileage is pretty bad, but need to include the 21 miles I had on before I took the first odo picture. Still, that would only equal 41mpg.

Look closely, those little dots are hot air ballons, probably about 10 or 12 of them.

Sun is coming up and finally starting to warm me up. Really making me miss my Ulysses with built in heat (whether you want it or not:lol3 ) windscreen, plug in for my Warm and Safe jacket and heated grips. I had to hunch over and place my left hand on the cylinder head to warm up.:vardy

I finally turn off the slab of I80 and onto highway 113 towards Woodland. Much better for the bike and me.

I finally make it to breakfast.:dg The Waffle Barn!

I get a table with the group and make a few greetings, but I'm hungry and the breakfast special is steak and eggs for $7.95!! Yea, medium rare, eggs over medium. Wheat toast and water is fine. Oh boy, gonna feast! Larry tells me to hurry up and pack it away, we're getting ready to leave. Whaaaa???? Mam, change that order to oatmeal. :cry I gobble the quaker oats down and head out to the parking lot.

I find out we're waiting for a couple more people and they are running late. :huh

Time for a rest stop as some folks requested more stops and a bit slower pace than last year. I wasn't there last year so...:dunno

The ride leader in yellow conferring with his son and some newcomers. See that girl on the CB350? She rails on the twisties! Her and that little CB tortured me all day on the road. Goes to show that she's either a good rider or I'm really that bad.:muutt

    Obligatory shot of my bike.:evil

    I really like Doug's GL650.

    Dude's 750.

Another CB750, a couple was riding this one.

    Looks like a serious conference.

Back on the road to Brownsville where we gas up.

Ah, this is more like it, 53mpg. Your probably wondering why I keep taking pictures of the mileage and fuel amount, well the trip is messing up and I'm too lazy to write down the miles and figure out the mpg.

While waiting for the group to get ready, this was flying around.

We come into this cool town of Challenge. Pretty neat and wishing I was riding a Norton or a BSA. Something really vintage.

A bit further down the road we enter Strawberry Valley.

Apparently, there's a very cool Hupmobile that was supercharged behind this field. I missed it.:cry

    Mosquito abatement equipment.:lol3

This was really cool and was running strong even on old gas.

The CB350:scratch Hmm, wonder why it's so fast and I'm so slow?

Don't let this 84 year old fool you or his single cylinder, he can ride that thing.:eek1

Ok, we're all hungry so we high tail it to Quincy. This piece of road is something else! Great twisties, good traction and a good pace.

Zoom in on Quincy-La Porte RD.

We get into Quincy our halfway point and denied the lunch place the leader set aside for us, seems they closed early sunday. Not any sunday, just THIS one. Guess they didn't want a Hollister event in their place from us thugs.:huh They do suggest another place, probably their competition hoping we'll ransack the place. So we head off to the Plumas Cafe.

I get the roast beef sandwich, although the french dip looked pretty good too. Next to a burrito, this made for an effective sleeping pill.:bueller

Lunch is done and time to hit the road, people are starting the smell the barn and getting gas for the final assault.

    Whoo-hooo, 67mpg!

    Final leg of the loop.

It's getting late for everyone so the tempo starts to pickup and the weather actually gets a little damp.

So we make pretty quick work to get to the bridge at Lake Oroville.

Doug drops off into Sacramento and I hit I80 with all the home bound folks on a late sunday afternoon.

Update: First group ride of the season.

We had our Redwood Run saturday. It was a beautiful day out and glad it was yesterday instead of today since it's calling for rain. Plus we had a treat today.

Group assembly before the ride, met in Los Gatos.

We ride up 9 to Saratoga and pickup another rider and those that needed gas got it. Further along 9 we wind along and get to the 9/35 crossing and meet even more riders. (gotta get a RAM ball mount for my camera, really missing out on the forested riding shots!):cry

We head south down 35 until we hit Bear Creek Rd. Those of you that live in flat and straight roads are really missing something. I wouldn't recommend big touring bikes on the roads we went on as the turns are tight, roads narrow, but beautiful and challenging. Great for smaller bikes and the member with the DR400 had a blast as the roads are pretty beat from the rains and neglect. Just love these forest roads. :D

We go south on Bear Creek Rd and hit Zayante Rd westward. I thought Bear Creek Rd was twisty, this is even tighter. After some shoulder burning turning love, we get to Felton and turn towards Scott's Valley where our surprise visit brings us to here!:clap

    The ride....

These things are pretty quick and we come to the conclusion they are equal to about a 200cc. Top speed is 67mph, range about 70 miles, charge rate about 4 hours to full charge. They make 4 models, weights vary between 161lbs to 300lbs. Costs about $10-11K then a $3K clean energy rebate iirc. Pretty fun to ride and of course quiet compared to the usual scoot.
