Looking foward to this, all the best fella.
Nice start so far. Good pics. What camera do you have?
This pic is weird how they have a Antigua, Guatemala carpet in the background. I went there last year for a world round trials competition.
Keep up the good work and ride safe.
Nice bike, locking forward to read and see more pictures from your advanture
Thank you for sharing.
Intriguing ride report scenario, definitely looking forward to seeing this evolve and you have a terrific start. As for suggestions, I'd strive to let your personality come through in the reports, including what you notice as differences in experience or expectation. You have a unique perspective and I'd love to see how that affects your trip, if at all.
Have a great ride, looking forward to your stories and pics......Mike
Best wishes for a safe journey. Keep the pics and narrative coming...I've got a week of work to blow off before vacation!
Nothing much to report as I rolled mostly on the Interstate from Staunton to Snackcity; Hanover, PA. There wasn't anything special to show unless I went in search of backroads which I didn't today: pressing for a bit of time to get to New Hampshire for Brunhilde's(my 1200 GS) new shoes. Hate appointments, but gotta go and it's this Friday/Sat. And all BMW motorcycle stores are closed on Sunday and Monday, dunno why on Mondays?
I do need my morning fix of a good cuppa coffee..be it Starbucks or whatchmayoucallit. Finding a decent cup isn't all that easy but eating it is possible..how...eh..Starbucks sells chocolate coated expresso beans. Chew them..pow...a 300 mg caffeine fix, but at $9.00 buckeroos a small bag is kinda expensive for my meager budget. Need the nine bucks for Brunhildes tank. Lo and behold..my Frau comes up with making an el cheapo version of starbucks choco coated beans. Hard-Tack-coffee. See the pics...how it's made.
Making coffee a la Hard-tack
Ready for the Road.....
Another delicacy in Penna Dutch country...Souse..Suelze..Headcheese...
Washed down with shrimps....ah.....feast of Kings...
See ya'll in a few days while I pound the asphalt to get my steed new shoes: Michelin Anakee's....
I am a hearing impaired rider living in Sackville NB - just on the border of NB and NS. You will pass near here one way or another. PM and I'll try to arrange to ride with you for a while, maybe we can share a brew.
You're doing just fine
How about a name or nickname, or not? Abendteuerfahrer reminds me of the Steve Martin, Dr Haafaaararrr
Wow, she just pours the coffee beens right into there huh? I've had grounds in chocolate but not whole beans. Looks good. Probably smells great too.
Now the real question, is that Ice Tea sweetened or non?
Wow, what a woman that frau of yours! Keep them journals coming...they're good and they're gonna get better. Sousse??....:eek1 dunno if I can ever stomach those head cheese (wonder why they call it that..must taste as bad as it sounds).. Your trip sounds great and I'm looking forward to some really fantastic stories up ahead!
Camera: I use a Panasonic Lumix 10x optical zoom; 28mm wide
Hard-Tack-coffee: my Frau melted 5 bars of 70% cocao chocolate in a pan at low heat...this consistency was poured over laid out evenly distributed expresso beans in a pan. To hasten hardening place pan if refrigerator then cut into bite size pieces. Guaranteed to get your fix at about 300 mg a pop depending of course of how many beans are in the bite size.
the tea at lunch with the Souse: it was semi sweet
About my profile: I will try to express myself a bit more about my perspective but lately have been thundering along USA's Interstates also known as... "Thanks to the Interstate Highway System, it is now possible to
travel from coast to coast without seeing anything."(Charles Kuralt),
in order to make some headway for Brunhildes much needed shoes.
Thank you all for your encouragements, suggestions ....
I'll be watching (Reading) this one for sure, by the way I just put the same cabinet pull in our kitchen...
Same pull, same bike, different wife.
You got me hooked...I will be checking in often.
Abendteuenfahrer, You have a great report going. Keep it coming. I will be watching for more. I to have a very bad hearing problem, but I keep riding and enjoy every mile. Ride safe. Bobby95
O yea, you got your groove on now. Let's go, let's go, let's go!
Got nuthin' good to report except a few trash pictures which hardly have any meaning. Rode through the PA contry side, got lost: GPS must have gone off. It rained up State PA...rained in NJ, NY. Nothing in Connecticut. Then rained again in Taxaschussetts. I have never in my entire life seen such congestion; road work...accidents...chicken neckers...RV's ...massive rush hours..aggressive drivers...Man, I rode as defensively as I could and within the speed limits. Thought people are staying home a bit after all these gas prices which are sky high....$4.79 gal for premium in Mass. I am basically 60 miles from Boston and will be heading to Max BMW in NH for Brunhildes new shoes. Stay around...things will get better...
Taken of the Susquehana river while being stuck on the bridge due to maintenance....NO flooding here like Ole' Mississippi down south
Bridge Maintenance....see the low clouds a comin' > RAIN
Got to the NY border and noticed pizza places everywhere> to make my Frau happy I had a NEW YORK pizza...there's no better pizza according to my Frau, bar none...ate 2 giant slices washed it down with diet coke in hope to negate the calories...ha,ha...
Holed in this place for the night as it was raining.....tiny Days Inn run by a very nice curry smelling Pakistani...couldn't understand him..so we had to gesture by waving hands in the air...and making the rubbing finger gesture(money)..he got it and so did I..$71 American dollars for the night with Wi-Fi...
Best view I ever had from my bedroom window....
