My mrs is a qualified proofreader Pyndon, I will pick up the draft manuscript on Thursday night
I'm in law school and have learned to read 100 pages in about 10 minutes....
I saw something a few posts back, errrr a few years back, that said Ilse of Mann. Wheres that thread at?
Panic over everyone, circumstances changed and when I tried to sell by trusty steed, the guy who came to look at it (a good friend and sponsor of mine) decided he wanted something with less scratches and miles.......(I don't know what he's talking about )
Anyhow, to cut a long story short, I had a part owned 2005 950 in the garage (co-owners Ned Suesse and AntWare from here) that had half the miles and scratches on it so I sold that instead I'm sure they'll understand!! Sorry Tony, sorry Ned
So actually, two very well known adventure riders now have a part share in what was described the other day as a 950 with "galactic miles" and "too many scratches"............oh well, I figured if I leave the 320mm suspension in it, neither of them will be able to touch the floor anyway....sorted!
I love this thread, there's always interesting stories around the corner. For now, I need to go change my cell number, email addresses and move house................................................................
If I didnt have people take'n advantage of me,
...I wouldnt have any friends at all.
Sounds like a win, win.
or a win, win, win actually.
Glad to hear you were able to free up some money without parting with the 950!
Was interested in the stretched suspension you sold earlier but was a bit short on cash then, but the economy is at a better stage right now so if you sort out another set Im interested.
PM'd you, you may want to check it and get back to me.
Or get a little ADV Rider discount coming direct through me
Hey Lyndon, how tall are you and how much do you weigh? I'm still considering getting the suspension setup and was wondering if you can touch the ground with both feet or not, (not that it really matters that much). Also I think that if your weight is around 210, the the springs and valving should be pretty close for me. I'm 6'4" 210lbs and I ride pretty hard. Also is that a Roncozzo seat? It looks just right to me as well!
Thanks and congrats! Chris
The concrete Jungle that is...
I must say, seeing the bike up in person it really seemed like a beast. Like it really meant business.
Hi everyone, things have been hectic of late, what with the Dakar and everything but while changing the headstock bearings on my 950 yesterday and realised I should probably let you guys (my long time followers!) know about this.
For anybody interested and has not seen this advertised elsewhere, I will be presenting my Dakar experiences in fun illustrative presentation evenings across the USA from 30th March. They have gone down well in the UK and I'd like to share with my US followers. Remember, my desert racing / rally efforts all began with the LC8
Saturday 30th March 2013 - Sloan's Motorcycle, Murfreesboro, TN, EVENT DETAILS HERE
Wednesday 3rd April 2013 - Performance Cycle, Denver, CO. Please contact them for information and tickets. INFORMATION HERE

I'm likely to be doing a ride out from Sloan's on the 31st and also in CA on the 6th. It's be great if some of you can make any of the evenings and to meet you in person and maybe even go riding?
Any questions, please just PM me. Hope to see you there!

What was really cool is that Curtis Sloan from Sloan's motorcycles won the Race Beast, so it's going on the counter at Sloans!
It was a good night, there's a whole thread on here somewhere.
In the spirit of the things I'll be riding 500 miles of dirt and broken pavement from L.A. on my old '04 950. And a big thanks for the many years of knowledge and inspiration. See you Friday!!!
Looks like you're having fun
That's awesome to hear! Look forward to meeting you.
Careful Pyn, he's probably going to ask you to service it when he arrives ........
