My Mio 310X SUCKS!

    Or I SUCK...which is it? Too much to list but I just can't seem to put this thing to good use. Am I doing it wrong? It's pretty much entry level if you're not familiar with the model.

    Biggest problem I had with it was readability, get something to shade it and see better and it "can" work well on the bike. Few things:

    -Needs a constant charge
    -get newer maps than what come with it.
    -You can customize the road colors with a little hacking based on road type (Color code Highway, Gravel, Paved, Potholed, etc)
    -Play with the auto-routing, I set mine to avoid highways and to get me somewhere based on the closest distance, not fastet time, routes me down some nice roads.
    -Put it away when its raining.

    A friend of mine had one and liked it as a basic unit, and I think his was an mp3 player as well.

    He liked it OK. It worked fine for basic navigating - until it got wet. Then he started looking at the Garmin 276c.
