I'm contiplating adding a hack to my adv moto. Any ideas what would be a good hack for a bike like this? Probably be used for grinding up the gravel roads, not real off road stuff. I have a Champion Escort on my old cb900 but that chair is more of a highway outfit. Been thinking velorex or Sputnik. Any thoughts? Oh yeah, it's a 650 parallel Twin Kawasaki Ninja motor.
Is the Sputnik better than the velorex? Been thinking about road tripping to ND and picking up the used one on Craigslist. Comes with a free Yamaha too....
The Velorex is WAY better than Sputnick Just kidding ( I have a Velo ). Whichever chair you put on will be just fine. Although that yama rig in ND is a hell of a deal. If I wasn't overloaded with projects I would have already left for ND
Yeah that would be the one I have my eyeball on. But I haven't broke the news to the wife yet, so no guarantee that it will happen. It would actually be better if it didn't come with the Yamaha, that way I wouldn't have justify buying another motorcycle! Are these velorex units tough enough to take a bit of abuse? I'm not talking about off road stuff just washboard gravel stuff.
Maybe out of budget, but this is what I want to do with a Versys one day. Would be even more suited for an ADVersys like yours. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=812974
Yeah that enduro rig is cool. I think I'd like a bit more of a dog rig though. I made plans to head north to look over the one in ND, but it seams I forgot about the new washer and dryer that SWMBO wants. Got a bit of negotiation to do with SWMBO.....
But I've been bamboozled! I didn't want another bike I only wanted the sidecar. So I called my daughter and told her she could have the bike. I picked her up in Fargo, drove damn near to Canada to pick it up. Wow what a sweat little motorbike. Yamaha xs650 special. It fits so well with the hack I really would hate to separate them. I'm still thinking on it but my daughter might be the next hack owner. And I'm out 2500 and got no chair for this: I've been bamboozled
In New Ulm during the week back in SD on most weekends. Woody and I cruised town for the first time in the Fat Bottom Girl (cb900 & hack). Woody's a star.
Sounds like allot of driving down 14.Where you at the Sturgis sidecar rally if so you should have said hello.DB
Actually I come down 67 thru Marshall and the back roads, my sd place is about 1/2 way between Bookings and Watertown. I didn't make the rally, I sure would have said hello. But with the rNew job and owning three houses right now it's a bit of time killer to take care of everything.
Yeah I saw one for sale In Rapid. But I spent my money. So either I get the Velorex to fit the Versys or leave it on the xs650. Don't know which just yet.
Sold the velorex. So I'm still looking for a sidecar. I know Jays Sputnik is probably the right rig but I'm not done bottom fishing yet. Anyone put a Teraplane on a DS rig? There is on realativly close (same state anywa) but looks t need some work. Right off hand it doesn't look like a good fit but it's realativly cheap. Anyone ever see one on a dual sport rig?
high octane, mornin', hope ya had a good Christmas, I was wondering how far ya are from Gettysburg S.D.? there is a motorcycle there I would like to get someone to look at just to make sure it's complete and the engine turns over, paint, chrome rubber not important.might save me a long trip for nothing, thanks and happy new year
