    Here is the Bad side......

You will noticed the goofed coolant hose. I Guess the PO dropped it and messed up the hose. I am on the lookout for a factory replacement.

But it does not leak and will do for now. Panels was off to just check stuff out and fix a crack. Pics were taken a few days ago before the Bondo restore black.

Engine pic is a little blurry but you can that it is pretty clean.

All new panels and complete repaint Coming. I am spending a ton of money on it. Just ask my Wife! LOL!

I did a 100 mile road trip this weekend like this with some buddies. No problems. Got a Lot of looks and plenty of questions though.

    Like.......

    "What the heck Is/Was that?"
"How long ago did ya Lay'er down"
"Look's like a Zombie response unit"
"They are even uglier with the plastic on"

Essh.... You'd think it was a KLR or something..

Here is the Final pics. Has 33k miles Engine hasn't been open but it gave me fits with a faulty cam chain tensioner and the carb must have had a fine crack in the housing, it drove me nuts until a replacement was installed.

    Things I have done latley.
New plastics with a semi gloss pearl white paint.
    Fusion painted new lowers.
    Near tires front and rear.
    New seat and seat cover.
    Grips
    Chrome cvt cover
    New belt and sliders
New carbine boot and later style bracket.
    Hoses.
Before.... (Wasn't a non scratched to piss or cracked panel on it..)

I love the two-tone panels. Looks pure 80's, so it goes great with the Helix's body style.

    Nicely done.:thumb

I have some plans for the '01 Helix that my 18yo son now rides but I want to give him a few months to make sure that he keeps the shiny side up first.

Great looking update! Looks brand new, in a Back-to-the-Future kinda way. Whatever the investment, you have a fine looking scoot that should give you lots of good riding... assuming you intend to take that pretty thing out on the road. :evil

    Kudos! :clap

I have cleaned up and smoothed out the fading and white oxidation from the black plastics on Hondas with 000 steel wool and a spray cleaner as a lubricant. Spray the black in a small area, scrub with steel wool, wipe. That's all. After you are done and the panel is even and pretty nice, wipe on a layer of something like Armor All and don't wipe it off. Use enough. The next day or two wipe it down with a firm pressure. All done!

Seems to be doing just fine after the big redo. Well, other than a rattle from the inside of the stock muffler. Such a shame too since I just beadblasted it and put like 4 coats of eastwoods hi temp black on it.

Tempted to fab up a pipe and put a shorty Dunstall muffler on it. I have seen some Honda Fusions from Japan with that style and I dig it..

Lost my Rear wheel bearings at 65 mph the other day. Got real squirrelly for a few seconds. These were replaced by the local Honda Dealership a thousand miles before I purchased it according to the receipt.

So..........Back to the Rucklone for transport until I Can swing enough to get it fixed. Been having a lot of problems with my Knees lately as well and it wasn't real pleasant to push it to the next exit.

Dug this old Warhorse out of the mothballs a few days back. If anyone is still giving 2 sheets about my bikes I Post about here you'll know I had to put the bikes up for quite a while due to some Health issues. The first bike I dug out was the Chinese big ruckus clone 150cc and I have been riding it around.

This old gal was calling me from back of the workshop so I drug her on out.

The bike was drained of gas in 2013 and set on the centerstand in a dark corner of the shop. It Typical Honda Fashion it started right over with fresh gas and a trickle on the battery. 20 minutes later I was sitting at 70mph on the hwy in my rolling couch!

Sure is fun to ride old scoots! Even better when you can walk under you own power out to the garage to ride them.
