I will be starting my R80 custom adventure bike soon. I will be posting pictures of my progress and ideas that I have. I hoping to get some tips and feedback along the way. Here is a picture of my frame. It is a monolever frame. It was made in August of 1986 :D. It has a title. Its a girl. Hopefully it is straight!?! $210 Shipped.

Who can fill us in on our options here.
Snoop has decided he wants to run a MonoLever rear suspension.
He has a 1986 MonoShock frame and a 1979 transmission.

Could he bolt up an R bike MonoLever up to 1995, will it interface properly with his trans?

Could he use a K bike MonoLever? They sure look simmilar.....:ear

I found a 1979 bmw r80/7 in brooklyn for $840 on craigslist:super. The owner was kind enough to deliver it to philly too:strum. It has an alright engine that might have low compression. Odometer read 36k. The seat is cherry, brand new metzlers, great front end, perfect exhaust and whole crap load of other stuff. I am parting away most of it because the look wont go with the adventure thing.

Just a bit of polishing with some simple green. I went to www.ordersteel.com across the bridge in New Jersey and purchased a 9.5mm thick sheet of steel to make a table for this project(note the ikea saw horses).

Looking at the connecting part of the engine and the transmission, it shows a very evenly dispersed light dust. Not really any signs of heavy oil.
