Hey it's part of Farm life...
If you have any Questions just ask....
I have put red cabbage in too .. But not a lot as it will turn it all PINK !!!!
ANd I have put 2 grated carrots in it too...
(If you use a large head as I do, just double the brine recipe and all the other ingredients)
LadyDracos colourful 9 Day Slaw
What you need
1 small head of cabbage 1 green pepper ( I use 2-3 it depends on the size peppers but Red and a Yellow & orange)
2 Onions (I use Vidalias )

1 Cup sugar + 2 TB .. (I use Raw sugar IE: sugar in the raw)
1 Cup salad oil ( ½ Olive oil and ½ veg oil)
1 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar (ONLY )
1 TB of Celery seed ( I heap it )
1 TB salt (Redmond sea salt)
shred the cabbage
. Onions ~ peppers ~ celery..
Mix all together with cabbage.. and sprinkle with the 1C sugar..
In a pot on stove add~ Oil ~ Vinegar ~ celery seed ~ 2 TB of sugar ~ salt
Bring to a boil
Pour Hot over the whole mix of slaw
First use a big spoon... Then ..
Dig in with your hands and mix well
The cabbage will wilt down
Put in the fridge
. Mix every few hours
. The next day drain it
PS you can start to eat it a few hours later
But its best the next day
It lasts for days n days
Last weekend I did also take my friends Grandson for a little spin ...
I had asked him if he had a helmet ?? And this is what he had...:huh
Yes I know he doesn't have a proper helmet..
We only went up to the gas station and back in the parking lot ..
Stayed in eye shot of Grandpa ...
His GP (Mark aka Detn8er) is one of my Buddies... He had some surgery done and still isn't ready to ride so he came in a truck for the FCR... And brought Ryan with him...
Ryan has had a ruff life from birth.. He has had many many surgeries..
So many big scars on his little body...
My buddy Mark told me .. When they got home all he talked about was the great time he had with pawpaw and the fire pit at night and he rode on a Valkyrie that was bigger then Paw paw's Valkyrie ...
I'm sure he will always remember that ride.
I passed a green Valkyrie trike towing what looked like a concession trailer of some sort on I40 near Statesville yesterday.
I had to look close to make sure you hadn't gone back into the hot dog business.
LOL... It wasn't me ...
But I have been thinking of starting Scooter Dogs back up....
ANd setting up on Va16....
I bet you would have some fun doing that.
WOW I can't believe we have another Anniversary ...31 yrs !!!!
Funny It still feels like 5 yrs...
I guess that's a good thing....And we still love being with each other...
This photo was taken at our farm sitters wedding the weekend of the 20th...
A little update ...
We came through the storm.. Only got 10" of snow and it's melting very well... Very happy we didn't get the 2 feet they kept calling for ..
But lets face it, with the ground being so warm...The snow kept melting as it came down.. Thank goodness the ground wasn't frozen..
Other wise I do believe we would have been well over 2 feet...AS it snowed for 3 days.... :eek1
We never really lost power... It flickered once.. But that was it...
I promise I'll get some RR's up soon....
Congratulations, i hope you have 31 more years together, and I'm alive to witness them.
