Have ponder "why didn´t I stop there when i passed it?" Last summer I
passed Stekenjokk when riding home from Norway with a motorcycle.
Afterwards I´ve thinking why I didn´t make any stop there and look around
at the area. Well, back there and do that, this time on my almost new
Innova 125. And….at same time, why not make a ride in to Norway

    The ride:
    http://maps.google.se/maps/ms?hl=sv&gl=se&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=114517051368690652267.0004947366289f59bfcac

    Filled up, packed and……packed
First brake, between Älvsbyn and Arvidsjaur. Now I notice that Innova is
little bit overloaded. New model of Innova and there are no carrier yet, so
have to rely to a bag behind and a sissybag between my legs.

Overloaded Innova 125. Despite that the behavior is okay.

Luggage, licenceplate and exhaust looks big....or is it the tyre which
    makes....?

    Little bit cold
Passing Arvidsjaur, Sorsele and Storuman fairly fast.
Little bit cold whole ride and it not getting better when the rain comes just
before Arvidsjaur. Just through the Arvidsjaur when noticing the weather
looks much better where I´m going. Do not make any stops often, at least
more than every 140kms between filling up the tank.
In Storuman weather is nice, take a ride around in village before heading
Wilhelmina. Time has passed twelwe o´clock and have now hurry up if
managing to get to Norway today.

Break after Storuman with coffe and sandwich, for me means it lunch

    Midsummer day
Just before Wilhelmina goes the road to Stekenjokk. Have to ride to the
village and fill up both petroltank and can. It´s midsummer day and who
knows how the access to petrol is over the mountainroads is. Time has
passed one o´clock before petrol and etc is done.

Ride back to the turn to Stekenjokk and Klimpfjäll. After a while I start to
think, it´s midsummer day and pondering how camoings, petrolstations etc
is open further. It´s also a long ride before heading the Norwegian border.
Turn around and ride back to Wilhelmina and rent a cottage.
It´s now warm and pleasant weather. Sit on cottageterrace, drinking beer
and count all german caravantrailers dropping in behind my cottage.
Suppose it´s some kind of meeting and they party a lot and very noicy and
so it will be whole night?

Spending afternoon drinking more beer and take a walk in the village. The
germans begind my cottage party hard with drinking and dancing. Half past
eight I´m so tired so I can´t stay wake a second more. Get to bed and fall
asleep directly. Strange way to celebrate a midsummer day…..

    Cottage in Wilhelmina
    [IMG]

    Trappstegsforsen
Wake up early, two o´clock. Make first pan of coffe and take a long walk.
Make my second pan, which will be enough for the whole day. Pack the bike
and get away already at five o´clock.
At Saxnäs there are a strange waterfall, named Trappstegsforsen. Waterfall
looks like a step. Pondering a while to take a walk in the area, but instead
fill up petrol and keep on riding. Have now noticing I´m getting to
mountains, it´s starting to get a little bit colder.

    Trappstegsforsen at Saxnäs
    [IMG]

    Stekenjokk
Stekenjokk and actually whole reason for this trip. Rest of the trip will be a
bonus for me. Still lot of snow and I´m freezing. Las time I visit Stekenjokk
it was in middle of July and there where no snow at all beside the roads.
Apart from it´s a mountainroad there are nothing to see here, but….now
I´m here, all because I didn´t make a stop when visiting last time.

Still lot of snow beside the rapids

    Norwegian border after Stora Blåsjön
Found at Stora Blåsjön a petrolstation, automatic one, money in and out
comes some fuel. Fill up the can. Station is near the norwegian border and I
can see a long gravelroad, also a sign showing south wich says it´s only
fifty kilometers to Gäddede. From there I know roads are tarmac to Norway.
Only six kilometers on the gravel road to the Norwegian border. My
experience says that I think it´s only gravel to the border and then road will
    be a good tarmac road.

Take a change and follow it, and notice I´m right. After the border roads,
heavinly new tarmac and twisted roads. I give full throttle and the
overloaded and instabel Innova protests a little bit in the curves. Enjoying
    the ride!

Gravelroad on the swedish side. Good one, but sure slippery when it rains
    [IMG]

And of course, nice tarmacroad on norwegian side.

    Norway
Leave the twisted nice road behind me. Just before Namskogen I get to
closed tunnel. To open the tunnel you have to stop just before the gate.
Why it´s closed I don´t know, presumably of the exhaust fumes.
I can see there are dark cloud at the other side of the tunnel. Take of the
uggage, fill up and can at same time feel that rain is coming. Ride in to the
tunnel. Tunnel is from the old school, dark and cold. On the other side of
the tunnel it´s downhill. Rain stopes as riding down the hills.

Europeanroad, E6 at Namskogen. Which direction now? Shut my eyes a
while and turn south against Trondheim. Don´t advance a long when reality
reach me. Can´t ride south, have to be at home next day so it´s just to
turn back and ride north instead.

Wonder why there are a gate?

Between Mosjön and Mo i Rana
Lot of activitys in Mosjön, lot of people, it seems like there are some kind of
fotballtournament. Stop a while and study all people mooching around.

Long time since I ride the road between Mosjön and Mo i Rana. Short cuts
etc when riding north or south from home so there have been no reason to
do that. Feels like I´m never ride here before. Of course I´ve done that,
but must been over ten years ago.

General the speedlimits are 80 kph in Norway. Innova hangs okay with the
tempo. After downhills comes uphills and Innova manage sometimes to do
just 50-60 kph and we are a little bit in way of the traffic.

    Improvement petrol consumption
Fo onehundredfiftyfift time all luggage of and fill up the 3,7 litre tank under
the seat. When leaving home bike had 1000kms on speedo and had to fill up
every 130kms in the beginning. Now, bike is runed in and consumtion is
improved a lot. Best it takes me now 170kms and the cost of petrol is not
    particularly heavy.

I´m starting to get fast whith filling up.

    Arctic circle raceway
Amply ten years ago was Mo i Rana an active city with lots of tourists. It
feels that then the camping ther closed, has the town in some way
degraded. Do anyway a quick tour through the city before heading north
    again.

Thirty kilometres north of Mo i Rana, Arctic circle raceway. Have never
passed without dropping in and take a look at the track. Happy when
reading a sign wich tells that some BMW-carclub has a meeting there.
Park just outside and ask if I can take a glance. Stairs up to the roof where
I can see over the whole track. I also can see activitys around my Innova.
It seems they have noticed the Akrapovic exhaust on it and their looks are
    cheerful.

Assorted knowledge and courage on the track. Some drivers gives it all,
while some takes it easy. Here I can stay a whole day, watch and listen,
but time is ticking and I have to leave for further riding north.

    North part of the track

    Arctic circle
Arctic circle north of Mo i Rana, touristtrap wich is hard to pass without
make a stop. Always lot of vehicles at the parkingplace.
I like to ride here. Before heading the actic circle area, it´s thickly wooded
and at the top of the mountains, I can´t desist to reach out my bikes and
give full throttle. That I do also with the Innova.

Well, buy a ice cream at the touristcenter, sit and study the passing
people. Do not a big thing about it, ride further north, of course with full
    throttle.
After the Arctic mountains it´s a long downhill, beautifull scenery with
greencolored rapids near at my right side, almost whole way down.
Someday I will give more time for this area.

    Arctic circle

    Sideroad to Silvervägen
Storfjord and the sideroad to Silvervägen and home. Fill up few kilometers
north of the sideroad. Chat with some tourists wich among others
wondering about the cc of the Innova. Couple of englishmen riding bikes
filmes Innova and ask questions about my Akraexhaust on it. There are
people wich understan racing also outside the track )

Full tank both tank and can.and then to the camping about one kilometer
north of the petrolstation. It´s only five o´clock when turning in to the
camping. Ask them if there are many cottage left to hire. My thoughts is to
manage a ride to Bodö via road 812 and then back via road E6 and Fauske.
Reserve a cottage for the guarantee sake.

South of Rognan, turnes on road 812 towards Bodö. Few kilometers and
reality comes up to, there are no change I have time to get back to the
camping in sensible time. I turn back and ride to the village Rognan, cruse
there a while and then turn back south.
Back to same petrolstation. Empty the can in the tank and fill up again the
can. Shop assistent sure wonder what I´m doing there again with my
    three-fourlitres bills.

Spending evening at camping to make some grub and walks in the area. Fall
asleep at ten o´clock, very satisfied with my ridingday with Innova.

At camping, complete controll of the in-check from my cottagewindow

    Junkerdal
Six am when Innova turnes on road Silvervägen. Uphill ten per cent to
Junkerdal. No hurry, Innova spins nicely at the hills. There are not traffic so
we make stops here and there to check out the views..
Bordering Sweden at the Junkerdal touristcentre. As usual the centre looks
more like a place of work than a place where tourists overnights in the
cottage. New cottage has also added. I´m suprised everytime passing here
that the place has survived. Well, maybe they surviving by the
    wintertourists, who knows!

    Uphill, Innova struggles well
    [IMG]

Stop sometimes and check the views
    [IMG]

    Open fields at Silvervägen
First part from the border is uphill, very long time and speedo shows
sometimes only 50 kph. On my favouritpart on Silvervägen, open fields with
small mountaintops wich gives a feeling of loneliness. I make often stops
and just lissen and enjoy the silence.

After mountains a haul home. Passing Jäckvik, it´s Sunday and the
combined store and petrolstation hasn´t open yet. Still, I have enough
    petrol to manage Arjeplog.

    Head down and home
Coffebreak and fill up at Arjeplog. Calculate it´s my last stop at a
petrolstation and fill up both the tank and the can.
Only about 250 kms home. From here I give full throttle and head down.
Few brakes and filling up from the can. Grub at Älvsbyn and then already at
    home two pm.
The luggage off, sit down outside with a cold beer in my hand and enjoy
    impressions from the journey.

One more perfect carry outed Norwaytrip on a Innova!

Isle Mallorca is not big. For example from the capital Palma in south, after
motorway to Alcudia in north, there was only about 50 kilometres.
However, there are a mountainarea in west, small tortuous roads and they
gives many kilometres and a lot of nice riding on two wheels.
At northwest is a small village called Sa Calobra. Road to Calobra and back is an
amazing piece of engineering, one of the greatest roads I´ve ride on.

Two days of riding gave me and Kajsa(wife) 500-600 kilometres on a
    Piaggio 125.

On motorway from Palma Nova. We follow the road only few kilometres and
then turn soutt on smaller roads to Port D`andtrax.

Few laps in the small village before heading north.

After Andratx we climp uphill. Small, twisty road with beautiful scenery from
    the Mediteraneo sea
    [IMG]

Stops sometimes and check out the views
    [IMG]

    Nice roads with nice tarmac.

    Some kind of viewtower.

Climbing to the tower, small village down there.

    Down there, Piaggio parked
    [IMG]

Up at the tower, we can see the mountain chain we have followed.

Kajsa is afraid of hights. Hurry up down, she doesn´t like when she sees
me sit on the towers edge and dangle with my legs.

We leave the tower and get forward against the road to Espolres.

Just before Espolres we turn to Valdemossa. Road gets smaller...

    Towards Soller, terraces here to.

Soller, town is maybe most famous for the old train which still goes between Soller and the capital Palma.

We found some tight streets also in Soller.

Fill up in Soller, 1,40 euro/litre. Well, maybe the petrol is not so expensive in Sweden after all.

On way from Soller, we also see the old train. Beautiful!

This days taget for the ride, road to Sa Calobra. Twelve kilometers of engineering. Kajsa, afraid of hights grumbles and I suggest her to wait here and I will get back here in few hours. She diclines my suggest. Propably afraid I forgott her.

Road is constructed round the mountain and as little as possible interferenced in the natur.

Same way back and now we notice more some things. A little bit up we see a buss which has rolled over the edge.

A litte bit up we stop to check the bus. Luckely it had been stoped by a rock...else it had rolled down few hundred metres?

Tight. We met some cars reversing. Biggest goes first, it was a bus we meet.

Last bit up after some serpentins.

Stop and check where we came from.

It seems that there are not many motorcycles on the isle. Understable, the isle is small. This must be some kind of motorcycleclub cruising, so many bikes didn´t I see in many days.

    Keep on uphill, more serpentins.

Sometimes look at the curves and wondering how fast I could get to the village if I forget to brake.[IMG]
