Anyone know the condition of the forest service roads around Eagle River and Crandon area? Saturday is looking like a good day for a ride.

I hope everybody got out this weekend. My brother Peter (pictured) and I rode the driftless region in SW Wisconsin e.g. Reedsburg, Gays Mills, Ferryville, Viroqua etc. I was amazed! The terrain was so different compared to the rest of Wisconsin, it was like being in a foreign country. There was a lot of narrow curvy blacktop without shoulders and only a few cars. Roads would frequently bisect quaint farmsteads and pass very near people's yards. One was either on top of the ridges or down in the hollows. The best gravel was definitely on town roads in the hollows. Saturday we rode from 8:30 - 7:00, covered only 190 miles, and didn't go down a single bad road. You can't really plan your route here. You just point the bike in a general direction and take the next most interesting turn. I learned that our driftless region is a fantastic picturesque riding area.

Dang, didn't see this till now. We just went up to Crandon this weekend. Beautiful weather, most of the trails are closed but still plenty of roads to ride. Put on 180 miles and it is pretty soft yet.

    Thanks @jakerps13,

I met a friend and we did the woods track at Cecil. Most of it was in great shape, unlike me for the first ride of the year.

Didn't get to partake in the recent nice WI riding weather, I was stuck out in Moab :(

Manitowoc area here. I've lived here full time for the past almost 14 years now. I was a little concerned about the straight , flat roads, being from a very different terrain. I still get back there and use it as a vacation home.
The first year I was here, I went on a "walkabout" of sorts. I had lots of time and discovered it by hiking, driving, riding and paddling as much as I can. I found it very diverse, but as far as motorcycling, stupidly fell in line with the cruiser crowd (I still rode alone), because that's all I saw. Did that uninspiring boredom for a few years and got a Burgman 400 for some storage for camping gear. I am now looking at a dedicated adventure bike to add to the Burger.
I really do love the various terrain and features here. The people are top notch, the scenery grand and I've rediscovered my joy of riding by getting rid of the big cruiser and getting the Burgman.

Despite the crappy weather, Forest Service roads southeast of Mountain were in great shape today. IMG_1201.JPG IMG_1202.JPG

Not much going on here, hope it is because everyone is out riding.

I got out on Saturday, beautiful day. Went and did part of @Cannonshot tracks out by Crooked lake, close to where I was last week. This week I only had to turn around once due to water and also didn't see any closed signs on trails, saw several last week. It was a good ride that ended with a late lunch at the Shoreline bar in Crooked lake.

I took the gopro and posted some clips of the trails over in the video thread, if interested.

Just got back from a ride around the Mountain area, north of 64. Cannon Shots NE Loop 2. Pretty sure we found Fat Chance's tracks!

Awesome ride, 2 hour loop with plenty of stops. Water crossings, atv trails, some pavement, logging roads.... perfect mix for dual sport!

@jakerps13 I will probably go back to that area several more times this summer, it's a 50 mile slab for me to get there. If you go back and want an extra rider let me know.

It's roughly the same for me coming from Appleton. Be awesome to have another rider!

I'd be interested in a big bike ride sometime. I'd be on a Multisrada Enduro.

I got a decent 200ish mile loop, up 55, 52, then county roads.
Nothing great, but at least nice sweepers and lots of side roads to explore.

Lots of things going on for me this summer, but I'd be interested also. I'm in Stevens Point, and ridden a few of those roads. I've also got a DRZ, Multistrada, ADV 990r, and a Superduke , so would be up for any ride
