Thanks wordsworth. Of course I tried to bail on you when the wheel came off.
Great pics Mefadv! Always enjoy your RR's. Keep 'em coming.
JT... I was hoping you did not mean what you appeared to be saying.:eek1
Anyway, we now know that people from all over the "Valley of The Sun" are following this thread.
Playing out Wickenburg Way is fun... if you can avoid those fr--kn locked gates! However as Wordsworth said... the locked gate made more of an adventure! ...and I agree
I don't know about the planning part, but the separation part we got down!
Ok JT, explanation accepted. We won't give you the "deserted desert nights" demo after all.
Wouldnt bother me (too much) if you did. Ive spent so much time alone in the desert, I love it. Ive been lost and stranded several times. Never dangerously though.
I live in Buckeye. I am new to the area. Buckeye is north of Mexico and west of Phoenix... so I think that's all that counts for this forum. Anybody up for riding this weekend? I am on a KLR 650 or a KTM 200 EXC. I am looking for some good enduro style riding, but will gladly hop on the dual sport if interest arises.
Also, jtwest tends to exaggerate time and distance.... I'll let that sit for awhile.
Nice photos mefadv, don't worry bout it if there is no picture to prove it, then it never happened ...
I do not!!!
Okay, so... ADV rules
When an ADV rider says he'll be home in 15 minutes, he really means he'll be home in an hour excluding any events around missed turns, weather, bike problems, or whether he decides he'd rather ride to Alaska than ride home.
Just around the corner, really means... in 20 miles you'll see a barn in another 15 miles you'll see a barn with a windmill... Make a right there... If you see a barn with a windmill and a gate you've gone too far.
If you wheelstand for 5ft. that gives the right to say you went for 20 ft., but if you wheelstand for 10 ft. you can say 100 ft. (You see it grows exponentially)
If your bike loses touch with the ground that's a jump and it must have been 3 ft.
A stream is a river, a hill is a mountain, an incline is a vertical ridge
I can't think of any more... I guess JTwest really doesn't exaggerate...
Duh!!! Doesnt everybody know this?
"Big bike ride. Back by noon." means you should bring a rope.
"Technically it's doable." means you should bring two ropes.
Thats hilarious!!!!!! Mostly bcause Ive been there.
In summary: was camping with a nonrider. Went for a "quick ride". Less than a mile away from camp, an hour later I called him and said "Im kinda stuck and forgot water" he walked to where I was with water and a 1/4 in rope. It took about 2 hours to get me back with bent handlebars, broken footpeg, and a missing glove.
The Adv rules dont apply here I got the tracks to prove it.
Alright who wants to ride ? Ill lead......anyone?
That's "no shit"
would love to but I don't mingle with the NW riff raff.
Unless there be donuts.
OK, I'll bite (but not the donuts ) and will be riding on Saturday. I am going to get the tag so if you are interested in coming along let me know JT. I promise, I will get you lost, have you pick up my bike if I drop it and all that good stuff.
He did it for me, I was busy riding my bike down a hill upside down with it on top of me and he helped. Then I pussed out on riding it up the hill because I'm from Alaska and AZ heat was making me think I was going to puke. Then when I was at the top of the hill he brought my helmet and jacket...what a darling
Fergot about that one. Yer gonna give people the wrong impression of me.
What time? Im working until 230
Pfffftttt, 2:30............I am done by then. We will sure to be on a ride soon. Take care.......
