Whooooa! 40 miles to 2.5 gal. couldn't you see it running out.
I plan on 45/50 mpg with my XR4 but always get a bit more on that kind of two tracks.
Looks like you were a long-long way from Alamo. :D

    Jeremy is "working on it."

We were exploring, with Alamo as a possible destination. If we'd follow more direct roads, would'a been cake, except Phillip had a tight schedule. He was still late. :D

I'm waiting to hear from another rider, but so far I think that I'm sticking to the original plan of going through breezy pines.

I'm thinking I wanna go. Is there a firm start place 'n time? Hasn't been much discussion since the date got pushed out.

AZ Tom, we need to get together. Any other Kingmanites on here?

All we know for start time and place is morning ( i can be ready by 930 as long as we plan on kickstands up at 9:00), probably Wikenburg (not a huge town. do we need to be more spacific? Safeway? ) I think Steelwind is still scanning maps, gauging trajectories, gazing intriguingly at the way the pivot point is positioned on his compass. Wondering "what makes it "go"?". Then retracting to site in his sextant....kidding!
He's racing this weekend in Tucson.
We have a few routes ideas in our pockets. Im looking for more right now. We are both "road less taken" kinda guys that dont mind getting lost. Any input is considered. Im starting to wonder if we can get from Alamo to Swansea to parker and keep it interesting.

I'd like to come down from ABQ,NM and join the Havasu ride. Also wondering details of start time and location. I'd be wimping out on the camping scene and get a motel in Havasu.

Missed a ride in Jan that some of the local NM guys did. Looks like they match the other tracks I've seen up to Alamo Lake and Alamo Rd.

I'll probably need to head south on the 7th and camp to make a 9AM start. No problem for me. Any number of spots along US-60 thru town but don't wanna have search out the crew.

Safeway parking lot looks good, south side of US-60 at Vulture Mine Road. Should be plenty of room there and they'll have coffee 'n donuts inside. :D

<edit, add> It's 130 miles from Kingman, guess I could start at 6:30 and make it if it ain't too cold.

If the other rider is me, I'm in for either way but I would like to know in advance so I don't get stuck pushing the big pig through nasty technical stuff or sacrificing comfort unnecessarily by bringing the XRR.

I really like the route suggested by DR650SEDDY but I don't want to impose and will tag along on any route you choose.
